We had an absolutely amazing time on this buggy excursion and would 100% recommend it to other families visiting Punta Cana! From the very beginning, communication was excellent. We were told exactly what to expect and what we should bring, and everything went exactly as planned. Our pickup at the hotel was right on time, and we were taken directly to the starting point with no delays. When we arrived, there were opportunities to shop for local Dominican merchandise, but the vibe wasn’t pushy at all—which I appreciated. We also had the chance to buy a bandana (so glad I did!) and a waterproof phone case, which I really wish I had gotten. There’s a place to leave bags safely before heading out, and I’m glad I left some things behind because I definitely overpacked. I brought a full mom bag—extra clothes, towels, sunscreen, etc.—but most of it wasn’t needed and got covered in mud anyway. If I could do it again, I’d bring less and just pack sunscreen and a ball cap. Once we took off in the buggy, the fun began immediately! Be prepared to get very muddy—wear older clothes and maybe even a bathing suit underneath. Within minutes, I was soaked in mud and loving every second of it. First stop: the beach. It was absolutely stunning—turquoise waters, white sand, postcard-perfect views. That said, the vendors there were very aggressive, and it made it hard to relax. Just be prepared for a lot of sales pressure. We bought two nonalcoholic drinks and two bottled waters at the beach hut and paid $34, which felt really steep. The walk from the buggies to the beach was longer than expected, and since I have some mobility challenges, that part was tough. Thankfully, our incredible tour guide Gary noticed and gave me a lift back to the buggy on his 4x4. He was kind, helpful, and made a big difference in our experience—10/10 for Gary! Second stop: the local chocolate and coffee community. This was one of my favorite parts. The guide explained how chocolate and coffee are made, and it was great to learn that the purchases made there directly support the local families who grow and produce those goods. A beautiful, educational stop! Third stop: the cenote. Honestly, this was the only part of the trip I didn’t enjoy. It was extremely crowded with several other tour groups, and the vendors were very aggressive—even approaching and pressuring our kids (ages 11 and 12), which made me uncomfortable. The cenote itself felt unsafe. There were no staff monitoring it, and my daughter was rushed to jump in and ended up landing on rocks. Exiting the cenote also required climbing slippery rocks with a rope—definitely something to be aware of if you have any mobility issues. Others in our group who went on a different day said it was empty, so maybe we just caught it at a bad time, but I personally wish we’d skipped this stop. We then hopped back in the buggies for the return ride, which was once again a total blast. Back at the starting point, we had the option to purchase photos. Pricing was per person and a bit steep (they quoted $80 for our group of four), but I was able to negotiate down to $60, which I felt was fair for the great memories captured. We also made sure to tip our guide Gary—he really went above and beyond. Final thoughts: This was one of the highlights of our trip. Even with a few hiccups, the overall experience was fun, adventurous, and so memorable. Definitely wear old clothes, bring sunscreen and a cap, and pack light—but don’t skip this excursion. So worth it!

The 3 activities lasted 3 hours and we went back for an hour to look at photos and change clothes if we wanted to!There were so many other atvs,4×4s and dune buggies that each place felt crowded...I went with a group of inexperienced drivers,so we kept having to slow down! Our guide Vladimir was pretty cool!we didn't not have helmets and the seatbelts were a little sketch...but it was straight...I was hoping to get muddy not dusty is all

Garry was an excellent tour guide! We stopped at 3 places during our tour - Macao Beach, a Dominican house where we saw fresh chocolate, coconut butter, mamajuana, cigars, and more, and then the water cave! The water cave was sooo refreshing and fun. Since the tour is only 3 hours, the time spent at each place is fairly quick but perfect for those trying to see multiple things in a short time in a VERY fun way. They also take pictures throughout your tour that you can purchase at the end. For my group of 4, it was worth it! Buggy > bus all day every day. Highly recommend!
