Tin Hau Temple
It is a declared monument. The temple has given its name to the MTR station serving it (Island Line), and subsequently to the neighboring area of Tin Hau.

5.00We did the Secret Food Tour of the Tin Hau district with Siu Wai. We had a small group of 5. Sui Wai gave us the chance to try the iconic foods of the area: tender beef brisket in an delicious broth, succulent roast goose, milk tea & warm pineapple buns smothered in butter, many varieties of dim sum. We sampled an Asian pear from a local fruit vendor, featuring fruit grown locally & imported from all over the world! Everything we tried was delicious! No samples here! Full portions, so bring your appetite! We also explored the Causeway Bay Market, a wet market selling fish, poultry, meat. No waste here as all parts of the animal are consumed from snout to tail. As we continued to walk, aiding our digestion, we visited the Tin Hau Temple. It was built in the 18th century, and now surrounded by skyscrapers. Sui Wai fed, educated & entertained us for over 3 hours. A great opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture. Highly recommended.

5.00Our tour guide was wonderful: personable, warm, interesting and fun (#Siu Wai #Sandy). Her English was very easy to understand, and her knowledge of the area was impressive. We tasted many local flavors and by the end of the 3+ hour tour, we were very full. We learned about the culture, the foods, the beliefs and even the economy. Our guide was sensitive to our needs and even catered to our dietary preferences. Highly recommended.

5.00It was an amazing experience and I got a perfect insight into the Hong Kong Kitchen and Food. Our guide Sandy did an excellent job and not only she has so many great informations about food, she also learnt us deeper understandings about Hong Kongs culture. I can highly recommend this tour with Sandy. Thank you! PS: you have to go with empty stomach, because you eat alot, but that's a good thing ;-)

5.00I went by myself in Nov 2025. Tour started on time. Sandy was very knowledgeable about the history of the food and how it fit into the culture of HK. We had the beef soup and dim sum. Tried some local fruit. Visited Tin Hau temple in the end.

5.00Fantastic food tour with Siu Wai as we explored the Tin Hau area. Definitely a great tour since it was on Hong Kong Island. It was in a residential area, not in the tourist area so we were able to experience shops where people that live and work in the area go to eat. Siu Wai had lots of information and history to share. It was a great afternoon with lots of great food.
