  Said the tour started at 10 we left over to the Excalibur for nine get there and they said 830. The bus left we got screwed.

• Misleading Tour Details, No Help, No Refund — Avoid Viator!

  I booked a Hoover Dam tour via Viator, and it ended up being one of the worst travel booking experiences I've ever had. When booking, the tour clearly advertised a 10:00 AM start time, with pickup around 15 minutes prior. We planned our aarival at hotel and the following morning accordingly. However, less than 18 hours before the tour, at 5:09 PM the night before, we received a sudden message telling us the pickup would actually be at 8:30 AM — and that we needed to arrive even earlier, by 8:15 AM, at the Bellagio. Problems: The tour does not start at 10:00 AM, as Viator advertises — it starts earlier and at Hoover Dam at 10am. We were not informed within a reasonable timeframe — only after the 24-hour cancellation window had closed. We could not physically make it to the new pickup location at the new time. The tour operator ignored our calls for help or clarification. Despite clearly explaining the situation to Viator Customer Care — politely and with all evidence — they refused any refund, not even partial. Their "secondary review" ignored basic facts: False advertising regarding timing, No timely notification of schedule changes, Zero help from the tour operator on the day. In the end: We lost $175 without receiving any service. Viator’s customer service did not take responsibility. Policies were used as an excuse rather than addressing a real customer issue. Conclusion: I will never use Viator again. I strongly recommend booking tours directly with local operators where you have real communication and accountability if problems arise. Lesson learned: Viator cannot be trusted when things go wrong.

  Bring snacks you don't have enough time to eat lunch and do the tour our tour guide was excellent, he knew alot of the history

  pretty bad. large bus took forever to make all the stops at pick up and drop offs. the first scenic place we stopped the bus started taking off without a group of 3 passengers, the people on the bus noticed them running and waving at the bus to stop. we had the opportunity to walk across the road to view the dam but it was barely enough time to do so. the worst, we got to the visitors' center and we were told we had 40 minutes for the tour. I received my $15 voucher and did the quick tour and made it back to the bus without time to stop at the cafe. then here we are again stopping at all the hotels to drop off. this was the worst tour I ever took. do yourself a favor, rent a car on Priceline for the day especially if u have more than one person. I use Viator when I'm on vacation and I'm always happy. not this tour.

• Government cuts!

  The Dam staff is part of the government cuts, which made it hard to tour the inside and make it back to the bus.
