North Coast 500
We depart early in the morning and begin our day tour from Inverness to Applecross using the lower part of the North Coast 500 route, crossing the beautifully scenic Black Isle before stopping in the village of Lochcarron. Enjoy the views across Loch Carron and perhaps pick up a bite to eat, before we continue on to Achintraid. The small village enjoys views over Loch Kishorn and a magnificient mountain range on the opposite shore.
Bealach na Ba Road
We then continue our journey, climbing upwards through dramatic landscape over the Bealach na Ba (Gaelic for Pass of the Cattle) which is also known as the Applecross Pass. The road is the third highest in Britain at over 2000 feet; we’ll pause for photos at the summit, so have your camera ready for those jaw-dropping views across Raasay and the Isle of Skye!

5.00I took this tour with Fiona. she was absolutely amazing. It is not an easy tour with all the driving on one lane mountain roads with large campers coming the other way and not following the rules for pulling aside, yet she was cheerful and a great driver and excellent tour guide. This is gorgeous country! Especially when you are at the top and then heading down to Applecross and you start to see the Islands including Skye. Wow - what a terrific scenic ride, one of the best in Scotland. Thank you Fiona - you were great!!!!

5.00This whole area was just stunning. We did a drive from Kishorn over the top to Applecross, enjoying amazing scenery. We then drove back along the coast, and again great scenery. The roads are all single track with passing places and not suitable for large motorhomes. It was fine when we did it, but I suspect in high summer you'll be hopping from passing place to passing place!
Couldn’t get enough of the enchanted beauty of the wild highlands!!

5.00We chose the Apple cross, Loch Carron & The wild highlands package and it was the best decision made. We wanted a tour that was unique and not choosing the usual “the isle of skye and Loch Ness “ and really was looking for something off the beaten path. We ended up picking the one we did because the “wild highlands” grabbed my attention and booked it immediately before it got sold out. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out especially as we also had our amazing tour guide Liall Campbell Mackenzie. He took real good care of us and had tons of historic information as we drove by and funny anecdotes that kept us highly entertained. Having a really capable guide really sealed the experience and being able to see the remote highlands in its raw majestic form was truly magical for us. Liall showed us all the best spot and made sure we had plenty of time to soak it all in. Inverness now holds such a special place for us. Bonus: Liall also has a killer playlist, if you’re lucky enough he might share it lol

5.00A very enjoyable trip with our guide Alex. Breathtaking scenery, great commentary and lots of scenic stops along the way. Alex went above and beyond to make the trip memorable. It was my favorite tour in Scotland!

5.00Stunning experience in the gorgeous Scottish nature. This was my first tour the day after my arrival in Inverness. We have been welcomed by super friendly and skilled driver: Willie who has a deep knowledge and love for Scotland, the landscape and the history. He drove us until Applecross stopping in several enchanting places, adding spots upon request. We had a delicious lunch in a lovely restaurant called The Walled Garden, in the middle of a blooming garden, then we followed the stunning views from the NC500 until Torridon and back to Inverness. Willie is a great story teller and made our tour an unforgettable experience (he also has an amazing british music playlist for the driving time). The tour mates came from different countries and they are were lovely and friendly. Don’t miss this stunning tour!

5.00It was an incredible experience!! The views during the tour were amazing, as well as the lunch at Walled Garden was incredibly tasty. Our guide Willie was awesome, he knew a lot about every place we went, he was very kind and I had a great time with him and our group. I highly recommend taking this trip!!
