Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque
The Hagia Sophia, also known as Ayasofya in Turkish, is a famous historic building located in oldtown Istanbul. It was originally built as the biggest cathedral in the world by Byzantine Empire in the 6th century and later converted into a mosque during the Ottoman Empire. 5.00We had an excellent and memorable experience at our tour guide, Batu! He was very excellent, well informed and knowledgeable about Istanbul. He and his driver worked really well to ensure our rides were timely. Once in the heart of Instanbul, most of our attractions were walking distance. Batu was fantastic and kept up with our pace to ensure we were comfortable with all our walking. He guided us on how to avoid the long lineups to get our tickets quicker. There was absolutely no pressure from him for anything extra for his or his drivers services (which was nice as other tour operators make a explicit suggestion!) Thank you Batu for making our Tour memorable! Highly recommend.

5.00Our day spent with Sema touring all Istanbul has to offer was perfect. We visited Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar. We stopped around mid afternoon for a lovely meal and we refreshed and ready to continue the tour. This was our first time doing a tour not booked through the cruise line and I couldn’t ask for a better experience.

5.00I don’t think there is a better way to see Istanbul. Ozgur our guide brought the sites alive by giving them cultural and historical context that would have been missing without a guide. He effortlessly navigated us to each site and made efficient use of time. We also made use of skip the line tickets. When we got back to cruise we heard others on our boat who used ship excursions complain about slow progress seeing things and disappointment. Book a private tour and be impressed. Ozgur was top notch.
