Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are functioning mosques and they can be closed to visitors for any reason, even without pre-notice (for a high-level state visit, for example)
Nobody can skip the line at either of the mosques although our guides make it easier and more efficient because they do it every day.
Istanbul has notoriously bad traffic. Give more time to get to the meeting spot than you may have planned
Tickets are timed and expire within 5 to 10 minutes.
Please be advised that it is not possible to join the tour after it has commenced.
Please note that women should be required to wear a headscarf when entering the mosque.
Please note that both men and women should wear clothing that covers their shoulders and knees. Shorts, sleeveless tops, and other revealing attire are not permitted inside.
You are not allowed to bring signs, symbols, banners, flags, documents, drawings, or any materials representing political, ideological, or religious beliefs inside the Hagia Sophia.
Please note that the 'Starting from Galata Port' option is available only for cruise guests.

5.00Coming from Galata port, we had a difficult time getting to the meeting place. I was scammed by a cab driver who charged my credit cards $10,000 US dollars. I was originally told that my meeting place would be at the port. Very upset with this experience!!
This tour was the highlight of my trip to Istanbul

He was so approachable and great at making sure everyone understood the history he was sharing as well as keeping everyone together. 4.00The tour is quite thorough and informative. Our guide made the information very digestible and humorous when appropriate. Be sure to dress modestly. Otherwise you will be provided with something like a cover up - provided by the Hagia Sophia & the Blue Mosque.

1.00Our guide, although incredibly knowledgeable about Turkey, Istanbul, and the history of all, talked too much, and too fast, and didn't stop talking when there were loud noises in the background. With the combination of the above combined with our guides' accent and marginal audio equipment meant that we didn't hear or learn a single important fact in 2 1/2 hours of non stop talking from her. She also walked too fast for our almost 80 year old legs. We would have really liked to get an abridged version of the information that our guide was trying to tell us as long as it was presented in a slower and more easily heard format.
