Mahsuri's Tomb
After hotel or port pickup at 9.30am, we will visit the legendary Mahsuri’s tomb (the site where Mahsuri died). The legend of Mahsuri supposedly accounts for Langkawi’s relatively ‘newfound’ success and judging by its increasing prosperity, the island has survived the curse. Description Mahsuri Tomb-Makam Mahsuri is a space in the legendary Princess Mahsuri and located at Kampung Mawat, 12km from Kuah, it is also known as Makam Mahsuri. Many natural attractions on the island have attached tales in the style of real English and Mahsuri the legend may be the most famous.
Beras Terbakar (field Of Burnt Rice)
The "Field of Burnt Rice" (Ladang Beras Terbakar) in Langkawi, Malaysia, holds historical significance dating back to the late 18th century. Legend has it that during a Siamese invasion in 1821, the locals of Langkawi, led by a woman named Mahsuri, sought refuge in this rice field. As a defensive measure, they set fire to the rice fields to prevent the invaders from harvesting the crops, leaving nothing behind for them to sustain themselves.

What a great day we had with Khairul, After an initial confusion over where we needed to go the trip was fantastic. We took the trip from a cruise ship- walk down to the car park area- do not take the shuttle bus to town which takes 30 minutes. Great boat ride around the mangroves- this was well worth a visit.... Visited the big Eagle statue, tour statue and had lunch and our guide took some top notch photos along the way. We really enjoyed our day

Our guide Ram communicated arrangements to us beforehand and met us promptly at the Cruise terminal. We were able to tailor the tour and he suggested adding a Mangrove boat tour which he arranged while we were visiting the Mahsuri tomb site. What a beautiful area of the Island and legend. Along our way Ram pointed out landmarks, mountains and explained the history of the areas we travelled through. He was able to answer our many questions and give us a sense of the beautiful Island and it’s people. A much slower pace, less traffic, mountain and beach scenery, friendly people. The private Mangrove tour was excellent and our boatman pointed out many additional facts and legends. The enormous Sea Eagles with impressive wingspans and expansive mangrove forests are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site including fish farm, bat caves and a cave which can be transitted at low tide. At Kuah town we stopped to view the Langkawi Brahmin Eagle statue and “Eiffel tower”, rounding out our trip with a visit to the duty free store near the port. Thank you Ram “of Langkawi” for a most enjoyable day. Would highly recommend this tour!
