  I had the most amazing time celebrating my 30th birthday with my closest friends seeing so many whales!! From the check-in experience, to hopping on the gorgeous boat, learning interesting things about whales & their migration, and seeing cool whale behaviors was awesome. I also love that this is a women-owned, small business, that has really done incredible things for the Lahaina community both during and post-fire. Everyone at Maui Ocean Adventures is wonderful, and I definitely recommend going with them for your next whale watch in Maui!!

  VERY highly recommend!! The owners, Chrissy and Emma, are exceptional captains. They, along with the crew, are incredibly knowledgeable about the islands and wildlife and have decades of experience in Hawaii. As a whale fanatic, they are the first boat tour to have taught me something new in years! Their boat is recently refurbished and is super comfortable, comfortable squishy decking and nice seating. They have great personalities and I have been a regular throughout whale season.

  The best whale watch and I would recommend to anyone! Will definitely come back and do it again next time we are on Maui. Friendly staff, lots of room and of course we saw lots of whales. Loved the smaller group sizes and the ability to move around easily.

  Booking was easy, direct payment, and the sweetest woman crew around! We went once and then a few days later had to book again before going home! Highlights were we were able to see a mama and baby slapping their tails and two males fighting! Captain Emma was so incredibly knowledgeable and it was just a great time on the water!   We went out with Maui Ocean Adventures last week and it was literally the best whale watch we have done in 20 years of doing tours. The crew was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, the boat was clean and spacious, and we had the best whale encounter we have ever experienced. We were only about 10 minutes out from the harbor when our crew spotted a solo female right near a fishing boat. This whale subsequently came over to our boat and literally spent the next HOUR hanging out and interacting with us. During this time she was literally right next to or underneath our boat. She would go from one side to the other, roll over and show us her belly, look at us with her big eye, all sorts of amazing interactive things. At one point, an escort came along and tried to get her attention, even breaching at one point and doing some pec slaps. She wanted nothing to do with him, however, because we were far more interesting. Finally he gave up and swam away. I saw more "whale" on this tour than I've seen in any other tour, partially because she stayed with us for so long, but also because the boat wasn't crowded and I was able to move easily from one side to the other to see her, again and again. It was incredible and beautiful and so magical. When our whale friend finally ventured over to another nearby boat and gave us enough legal room to turn our motor back on and return back to the harbor, we bid her farewell and thought that would be it for the day. However, we had even MORE whale encounters on the way back, and we weren't looking. It was just the most amazing experience we have ever had. Some context on Maui Ocean Adventures - it is a woman-owned business that rebuilt after the Lahaina fire. They have quite a story and it's a tribute to their resilience and determination that they are back out on the water. They also have a dog named Macy who is Instagram-famous because of her love of whales and being on the water. If you tour with them, you might even get to meet her at the dock. They were super easy to book with, really responsive, and it was just an overall great experience. I would highly recommend them for your whale or snorkel adventures while on Maui!

  Unbelievable experience. We weren’t sure what to expect, and the views and close up encounters were mind Blowing. Emma and Lainey were terrific on providing expert analysis of the whales and made the trip so enjoyable. Make this a must do when you come to Maui

  We had an absolutely incredible time on the whale watch! The staff was exceptional—so knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the whales, which made the experience even more special. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, the boat was the perfect size, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was the perfect outing for our Ohana, and we made memories we’ll cherish forever. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to connect with nature, see whales, and have an unforgettable adventure!

  The entire process was seamless and allowed the focus to be on the joy of the experience. Captain, crew, and vessel were of high quality and dependable. And oh my goodness the whales! What a picture perfect experience. If you are on the fence about this, do it! You will not regret it.

  What a great trip, with an awesome pilot (Emma) and staff! They took us to watch whales, and we saw plenty of them. They sure knew where to look! Everyone took the time to answer any questions we had and tell us many facts about them as well. I would definitely recommend booking an adventure with them!

  What an incredible experience! We were met by an all female power crew 💪 and the cutest dog ever, Macy (she does not come along for the ride because she gets too excited when she sees whales) and boy would she have been excited this trip! Our captain Emma took us to multiple locations and with the help of Reese, her first mate, got us closer to whales than I could have ever imagined! We had a mama and baby circle the boat so many times that everyone had a perfect view at some point. The boat was not overcrowded so we were able to move sides to get multiple vantage points for photos. There is an area for shade but being on the bow right in the action was incredible. Chrissy was waiting for us on the dock and helped us pick out awesome merchandise (hats, T shirts, sun shirts) Could not recommend this crew more! I’m so grateful they were able to bounce back after losing their first boat in the fires. Mahalo Maui Ocean Adventures!
