Admission to Maui Ocean Center includes all-day access to explore the Aquarium’s exhibits at your own leisure. Journey from the Living Reef exhibits to the renowned 750,000-gallon Open Ocean exhibit to encounter Hawaii’s marine life, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. With over 60 exhibits, 20 daily presentations, cultural activities, and tours, Maui Ocean Center enables guests to experience the diversity of Hawaii’s marine life and local culture in an immersive and educational environment. The Aquarium features world-class shopping at its Maui Ocean Treasures gift shop and ocean view dining at Seascape Restaurant, an Ocean-Friendly certified restaurant serving fresh catch specials and island-inspired cuisine.

Child friendly experience of nature in Maui.

4.00Lots of fish tanks and many varieties of sharks & fish (including jellyfish) to view of many varieties. Extremely child friendly. Allow about 2 hours.
Just okay. Watch out for mold.

3.00We decided to check out this aquarium because it was a windy and rainy day and we have 3 kids under the age of 8. The kids definitely enjoyed looking at the fish but we finished the whole loop in about an hour tops. I don’t really feel it was worth the cost at almost $150 for the 3 of us, the kids under 4 were free. We saw all the same fish they had here out snorkeling by our hotel in Ka’anapali. The best part by far was the shark tube. Something I noticed immediately upon entering the first building was all the mold on the walls and floor. It seemed like almost every tank has a leak and they continue to paint over the bulging drywall. We actually got headaches and itchy eyes from being in the buildings with the tanks. Definitely something to keep in mind if you have SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) as this could worsen your symptoms. Overall, fine if you have nothing else to do to burn an afternoon but I wouldn’t put this on the priority list.

3.00The grounds are well kept, the animals are beautiful but it’s a very small place. It took our group with four children less than an hour to go through and that was with stopping and watching the sharks for an extended time. Also children under 5 are not permitted to participate in the whale sphere which all of the children in our group are.not worth the price point in my honest opinion.

5.00The place is very beautiful and well kept very clean. All the different varieties of fish were amazing. Especially the frog fish which I never knew that existed.

5.00The literature stated to plan 2-2.5 hours at MOC but my nickname is Ocean Mama and I knew I'd need more time. I stayed between 4-5 hours literally reading every placard and taking time to observe all the creatures, known and unknown. My visit to Maui from Oahu was expressly for luxurious time at the Ocean Center. It did not disappoint and far exceeded my high expectations having already visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium many times in the past. You are a treasure. Thank you for all you are doing to promote ocean awareness and to educate us on how valuable the ocean is to our lives in every way. Without it, no Earth. I'm so deeply pleased to have had this opportunity. It's magic and beauty will stay with me for life.

2.00It was a disappointment over the build-ups on the site. The movie on whales purported to be in 3-D but was so dark the 3-D wasn’t effective. The other displays were not that impressive. The best part was the aquarium walk through the glass tube. The Maui Transit system worked perfectly and dropped off at the aquarium. Senior citizens ride for free and they have a stop near the cruise ship terminal.

5.00This aquarium is beautifully done. The exhibits are amazing and I could sit and watch the jellies for hours. The kids were delighted, and it was fun and educational.

4.00Our party had a few hours before we had to go to the airport, and this was a fun place to kill some time. The shark tube was awesome! As adults we enjoyed it - great place to take kids.

4.00We spent a few hours in the afternoon here after a morning of outdoor exploring elsewhere. Our main complaint is the expensive price of admission at $50+ with no option for AAA discount. Our favorite aquarium is in Atlanta but this might take second place. We enjoyed the afternoon here, in particular the whale movie, indoor exhibits of colorful sea life, and outdoor exhibit of turtles.
