Mount Batur Sunrise Hike and Optional Natural Hot Spring is a combine package between sunrise trek and Optional soaking hot spring or other activities in one day.
What is the highlight?
1. Hike up the stunning Mount Batur on an early sunrise trek to its summit with experiences local guide.
2. Watch the sunrise from the peak of volcano and explore crater from 1804 to 1949.
3. Enjoying a well-earned breakfast with a cup of Hot Drink at the top while you watch the brilliant colors of sunrise.
4. Top off your active morning with a soak in a natural hot spring and an invigorating coffee taste before ahead to hotel (Optional)
5. You can add optional trip such as Swing, Waterfall and other activities in one day.
Upon arrival at base camp, get a short introduction and safety briefing from your guide. Before and after your hike up to the summit 1,5 hours, you can relax in our the Mt. Batur base camp lounge, the only one base camp around the area with clean and comfortable toilet facility.

A shortened hike; a scam of a morning

2.0This experience was largely a scam in a lot of ways. I booked the tour solo, which off the bat charges me as about 1.5 persons cost even though I was joining a group and it wasn't a private tour. This has happened before. Booking this tour I did notice that there was no way to book with a hotel transfer without a stop after the hike, which is annoying as most will not want to do anything but go back to bed, but fine. Day of the trip, I got picked up at 1:30AM from my hotel in Ubud only for us to sit at the base of the trail for 30-45 mins before we began hiking. I could have slept at least an additional 30-45 mins; why did we get picked up so early? Then the hike begins at a higher elevation than the start of the trail according to both trails on All Trails. They make the hike easier without telling you; I was looking to do the full hike, not a shortened, tourist version. Near the top of the mountain they "make" breakfast (a banana sandwich) and if I hadn't asked about going to the summit itself, I don't think the tour guide intended to do anything but watch the sunrise from there. Unfortunately, there was no sunrise that day which is not the tour's fault but being up so early to not see the sun only further muddied the experience. The stop at the "hot spring" is just a pool, not a natural hot spring as advertised, the group tried to tell the driver that we would rather just skip the pool. He indicated he had already paid and we said we didn't care. So he got his money back (of course we didn't get OUR money back for not going); he just paid himself extra and he took us home. However, not without trying to take us to another scam of a coffee farm where they would want us to spend more money. We refused this stop. Overall I spent a lot of money to do only a part of a hike with a transfer. According to AllTrails, locals prevent tourists from doing the hike on their own so this is the only option. Overall a disappointing experience.

5.0Great experience hiking the volcano! It is an early morning but the driver was right on time and everything ran really smoothly. Loved our guide as well, she was efficient and got us to some good photo spots.

4.0We had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide Gede was friendly and informative. You need to be fit as the hike was rather difficult. We loved the hot springs. Highly recommended.
