  Would highly recommend visiting Etna. Plan on doing cable car. Tasting part of this tour was eh. Might look for something more real.

  Really great trip. Daria was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable about Etna and also how to get the best photos! Really small group, so it was perfect. It's a must do!

  The tour starteds with a ride in a large van (small bus) to the starting area for Mount Etna, which has restaurants and shops. The guide then took us up the mountain and around it along the trails. The mountain is extremely beautiful and photogenic, and our guide (Giuseppe) was extremely knowledgeable. He was also very attentive, making sure no one fell behind (the first part of the climb is a bit steep) and everyone was safe. The second part of the tou involved climbing down into a small cave made from lava. The third part was a visit to a winery and bee farm, where we sampled three types of local wine and different types of honey.

• Issue with the Van

  Beware of taking this tour if you have any issues with small, dark, enclosed spaces. When the van came to pick me up, I got in, but had to get out almost immediately and decline the ride as I was overwhelmed by feelings of claustrophobia (there were 5 other people in the small van plus the driver and the windows were tinted so dark and not able to be rolled down). I travel frequently and have been on many many tours, but have never encountered this issue... I even paraglided later the same day and was driven to the top of the mountain in a bright, airy van, with a similar number of people in it and had no issue with the space. The company also refused to refund my trip due to the issue with their van. And when I suggested my taking the tour at another time (when I could sit in the front by the window (there was a couple sitting there already on this particular trip and I did not want to ruin their experience by having them move to the back for me), the company refused to let me unless I paid twice. Which I was not prepared to do.
