  This is my second time booking this trip with Viator. My first experience was not a good one given the fact that weather was bad, therefore impossibility to see the mountain, and our guide, while a very nice person, was just a chauffeur: dropping us at places and asking us to do the tour ourselves. This time, same issue with our “guide”: dropping us and asking us to take care of things. So be careful of what you book and ensure you have a real guide. The cost of having a chauffeur only was too high at $500+ for 3 hours of driving and most of our guide’s time, waiting for us

• Mt Fuji with Prince and Hasan

  Despite some problems with providing a bus for a larger number of people, the operator fulfilled the agreement and provided transport with two buses. Thanks to them, Prince and Hasan, this trip made sense and was really at a very high level. Great care, professionalism and knowledge of the places visited. I really recommend it!

  We had a fantastic time on this tour with Jamid. He recommended leaving early to get ahead of traffic and get pictures of Mt. Fuji with a beautiful blue sky backdrop. Jamid took us to several sites and took as many pictures of our family as we asked. I would highly recommend this tour with Jamid. He exceeded our expectations and made this a perfect, memorable experience.

• My Mt. Fuji Tour Was Hijacked

  The driver showed up at our pickup point in a vehicle that he knew was having break problems. That was at 8:45 AM. He then drove us around Tokyo for about an hour, stopped at a rental car place, said give me 3 minutes and proceeded to get out of the car. He left us passengers inside the car on the side of a busy street for 20 minutes without saying a word. He then came back and told us he was trying to change out the car because of the break problem. His boss told him that one would not be available until 11:30 A. The driver then got back into the vehicle and drove us around Tokyo for another 1 hr 25 minutes to another rental car place. We were given 15 minutes for a bathroom break and a chance to buy a bag of chips and a drink at a local convenience store. At approximately 11:45 AM (3 hrs after being picked up) he started us on our tour. It took us another 2-1/2 hours driving to get to our first stop. The road to Mt. Fuji 5th station was closed and was unavailable, so Lake Kawaguchiko was our first stop. We were given only 15 minutes to get out, stretch our legs, go to the bathroom, and take a few photos. Our next stop was Oshi Park. Again, we were given 20 minutes to get out, stretch our legs, and take some photos. The driver then told us that we could not go to the Chureito Pagoda because it would take too much time. Our next stop was at Oshino Hakkai for 30 minutes. This place was a zoo with all the people there (shoulder to shoulder). You could hardly walk through the place, let alone buy something or get something to eat. Our last stop was at Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine. We had only 20 minutes to do what we had to do prior to getting back into the car for a 2-1/2 hour drive back to the cruise ship. Again not enough time to stand in line to get something to eat or to buy anything. We arrived back at the cruise ship a 1/2 hour prior to all-aboard signal was given. The traffic on the ride back had all of us afraid that we wouldn't make it in time.
