This is a MUST tour if you are near the Liberia Costa Rica area. How many chances do you have to visit one of the oldest cities in Latin America - Grenada Nicaragua. The breakfast at the restaurant by the huge Lake in Nicaragua was great. Miguel was excellent tour guide. The horse drawn carriage ride thru the city is worth $10/person. Get the fish for lunch. It takes 2 hrs to get to the border then you have to walk about half a mile to cross. When returning back. It's about 4 hrs total. 2 hrs from Grenada to the border, half mile walk across the border again, then 2 hrs back into Liberia Costa Rica. So have something to read or watch for the long trip back. But it's totally worth it.

Claudio (main tour guide) in Nicaragua was great. Great places to see and food choices were fantastic. The drive from our Costa Rica hotel to the border (and back) is long- just be prepared-and was a different person than the Nicaragua guide and driver. You have to cross the border on foot in a no man’s land shared by semi-trucks, but that was the only part for us that was outside our comfort zone.

This was a beautiful full day experience. We drove from Tamarindo Costa Rica to the Nicaraguan border then walked across. After we drove through town enjoying history, a chocolate making class, visiting the lake and volcano. Our driver was excellent and took good care of us.

This Nicaragua was a main highlight for us all! We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of Nicaragua from the pacific coast near San Juan del Sur with all the amazing views, lake Nicaragua and its many multi-million dollar homes, the Catarina viewpoint with the Caldera and even within the city streets when we stopped for lunch, the chocolate factory and cigar factory! Our main tour guide Miguel, trainee Gretel and driver Antonio were all very knowledgeable, friendly and great at engaging the group. It was a really long day for us with a 4:30am pickup, but everything was smooth and absolutely worth it!! Highly recommend this!
