I thought the highlight of this trip would be the waterfall, it ended up being the temple. I really enjoyed this though. The tour guide spoke english very well, and I learned a lot about Japan and felt that i could ask a lot of questions. I would have liked some more time at the waterfall, as the elevator to get down to the base took a long time, and i did not want to get stuck or hold up the tour with being late. The temple was awesome though. It was so historical and amazing. The way that we got in was with the tour guide did not hand us the tickets, which made it a problem for the other stuff in the temple. So it would be better if the tickets were handed out physically on the bus.

Traffic was horrific but guide Eric did his best to give us as much time as possible at each stop. They had to switch drivers because the first driver maxed out the hours he was allowed to drive for the day. We were 2:30 late arriving at the first stop despite the best efforts of our very skilled driver. The drive up the mountain was scenic. The lake was nice but the waterfall was spectacular. The shrine was very impressive but the climb to see the tomb was grueling. We agreed to skip the bridge viewing to save an hour. We met the same traffic back and finished the day after 13 hours.

Punctual and organized group leaders who explained the sites well but also let us explore on our own. It was a holiday weekend and so traffic was quite heavy. The leaders adjusted the schedule so we saw everything and still made it back to Tokyo on time. The bus was clean and comfortable and the driver was very skilled especially on some tight hairpin curves. Beautiful scenery and the temple alone is worth the trip.

Very knowledgeable, approachable and friendly. She individually walked up to people to see if they has questions but didn’t want to yell it out. I hadn’t seen a tour guide do that before
