It was a great experience, something I've wanted to do fr a long time. The ferry ride gives you a great view of Alcatraz, the city and San Francisco Bay. We took advantage of the discussion of some of the more notable prisoners and escape attempts, and the audio tour of the prison itself is really well done. It was definitely a highlight of our weekend in San Francisco!

Awesome!! If you are taking a day cruise out to Alcatraz it is perfect. We arrived early and were allowed to board the earlier cruise. We chose the day cruise with a 4-hour window for $80 per person. We were able to see everything at our own pace and don’t feel like we missed out on anything! We still had plenty of time to choose a guided tour as well before taking the boat back to the pier. It was nice to choose to go with the group, take a guided tour, or even a self-guided tour with an audio option. Everything very self paced and leisurely. Would recommend!

It was a really fun experience and we got a beautiful sunny day on the boat over to Alcatraz! The tickets were super easy and convenient to buy with lots of days and times to choose from. Highly recommend!!

If you’ve seen a historical prison, there’s nothing new here. I also think we were told in the add that we would get a lunch, which we never got

Very great experience, so much history to it and behind sight given. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting. It was amazing to meet William Baker as well who was here from 1957- 1960.

You can't bring a packed lunch. Water only. There are limited toilets, and there is nowhere to buy food. Besides, the tour is very well organized and definitely worth a visit. Audioguide was fantastically well done. Easy to follow if you know English or 10 other languages such as French, German, Asian. However, there are no Scandinavian languages included. We had no problems with the English version.

Went to Alcatraz Island and followed the walking tour. Excellent information nobody else would have a clue if you just walked on own. Highly recommend taking walking tour for the beginning
