Private Authentic Balinese Cooking Class in Ubud, Bali with Putu

Join your host Putu in her kitchen for a private, hands-on cooking class. Unlike many other TripAdvisor tours, this is a private experience. You and your host will prepare 2-3 authentic Balinese dishes. As you chop, grind and grill, Putu will teach you about the spices she uses in her family recipes as well as the medicinal qualities of Balinese ingredients.
Putu's kitchen is simple, with only a two-burner cooktop but you will be impressed by the speed and fluidity with which she prepares a complex menu with multiple dishes. You will taste a variety of authentic dishes with potential ones being Putu’s grilled eggplant with tomato, grilled fish with Balinese sambal (chili sauce), a curry dish (either chicken, fish or vegetarian) or perhaps a variety of pepes (foods seasoned with local spices, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed). You can expect the cooking lesson to last about 1-2 hours before you sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you helped prepare with your host and her family.

Please note: Prices include round-trip transport from Ubud only. Please be sure to include your hotel name on the reservation form so your host can arrange for your pick-up. If you are staying outside of Ubud there will be an additional charge for transportation.

5.0I had a fun evening cooking food and sharing stories. The host is so nice and explained everything we were doing. She opened up her home and showed me around. You can tell she cares deeply with everything she does in life. Everything tasted delicious. There was so much food made, so she packed me a plate to take home. Thank you!

5.0My wife and I did the Private Cooking Class in a Traditional Family Home. The day far exceeded our expectations and was a highlight of our travels in Asia. Seeing the home of Putu and Pasta gave us a great appreciation for how many people live in Bali. Most of the food we prepared was grown or raised on their property. Putu spent considerable time showing us their private temple, where they grow / raise the food, and living quarters. The food preparation area was spacious and well laid out. We prepared 4 Indonesian dishes and had a wonderful feast afterwards. Putu was an excellent instructor and we look forward to receiving her recipes.
