In the Carpenter Village we will see the carpenters at work designing and carving wood. We will also be able to see the ship carpenters on the river busy renovating and manufacturing wooden ships.
We will stop on the way to the sleeping mats village to get to know the plant from which the mats are made and the ways of processing it into threads that will be woven into mats. Arriving at the mat village, we can watch the women and small children {the new generation} weave mats and weave the threads, creating colors for the carpets that will later be used as sleeping mats {a mattress replacement}. Thanh Ha Pottery Village
You will visit a pottery village where local people make their own pottery from clay. First, the owner will teach you how to make products such as: ashtrays, vases..then you will make it yourself...finally, you can visit their store and maybe buy some small souvenir for family and friends. In addition, you will also receive a small gift from the store as a thank you from them.

The second place you visit we call the homemade noodle factory. There you will see how local families make noodles and rice paper from rice grains. includes 5 steps: soak rice for about 6 hours, grind with water, heat a specialized pot, add the mixture, roll into a ball, cover for about 3 minutes, then take it out and place it on a bamboo tray. If you want fresh noodles, take the product from a bamboo tray, cut it by hand or by machine. If you want to make rice paper, you have to dry it and then grill it on charcoal. you will see local family doing it then you will do it yourself. Finally, you will enjoy rice paper and tea.

5.00Our family spent a thrilling and unforgettable day exploring the villages around Hoi An with Traveling 2 Asia in April 2023. This motorbike tour was the perfect way to escape the tourist crowds and immerse ourselves in the authentic Vietnamese countryside. Our guide, Daniel, was a true gem. He spoke excellent English and possessed a deep knowledge of the local culture and history. He patiently navigated us through the bustling streets and quiet lanes, sharing fascinating stories and anecdotes along the way. Our two teenage daughters particularly enjoyed his playful humor and engaging storytelling. The tour itself was perfectly paced, offering a diverse range of experiences. We zipped through rice paddies, marveled at the beauty of the Marble Mountains, and witnessed the traditional fishing techniques used by local villagers. We even had the opportunity to try our hand at weaving mats and making rice cakes, gaining valuable insights into the daily lives of rural Vietnamese communities. The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the visit to Hoi An. The warm hospitality of the villagers, their vibrant smiles, and their unique customs left a lasting impression on us all. We were even treated to a delicious home-cooked lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients. The motorbikes themselves were comfortable and well-maintained, and we felt safe and secure throughout the journey. They provided helmets and ensured everyone was comfortable before we set off. They also took care of all the logistics, including entrance fees and transportation back to Hoi An at the end of the day. This motorbike tour was truly a highlight of our family vacation in Vietnam. It allowed us to connect with the local people, appreciate the stunning scenery, and create memories that will last a lifetime. We highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking an authentic and exhilarating adventure around the villages of Hoi An.

5.00It was a perfect day. We rode motorbikes between the small villages around Hoi An. Through rice fields and a green landscape. We visited potters, mat weavers, wood carvers and other various craftsmen. It was a great experience. Our whole wonderful trip to Vietnam was organized for us by Daniel Edani. His service is friendly, pleasant and fast. We were very pleased. He was there for us for any matter and question. But there is no doubt that one of the highlight days of the entire trip was that day riding the motorcycles in the Hoi An area. We highly recommend.
