You will be warmly welcomed by your host, Noriko, at Shin-Urayasu Station JE08(just 20 minutes from Tokyo Station). Together, you’ll take a short 3minute walk to her cozy Japanese home. The experience begins with a relaxed tea ceremony. Noriko will share a little about its history before preparing the first bowl of matcha. Then, you’ll make your own for the second—she’ll guide you step by step. With your tea, you’ll enjoy two small sweets and one seasonal sweet. Next, discover the traditional Japanese instrument, the koto. Noriko will perform two pieces, and then it’s your turn! You may be surprised at how quickly you can play a melody. To make the day more special, you can add the optional yukata (cotton kimono) experience for 3,500 yen (cash, card, or PayPal). You’ll be dressed in traditional style (10 min per man, 20–30 min per woman including selection), and women also receive a simple hairstyle. Please note the yukata option extends the experience time, and kindly request it when booking. Afterward, Noriko will help you take memorable photos. We look forward to welcoming you to a private, fun, and unforgettable cultural experience in Japan!

The experience we had at Noriko San's home was one of the strongest I had in Japan. Noriko is charming, smart, full of humor and knowledge. Speaks excellent English. We spent a very pleasant few hours learning about Japanese culture, the meaning of kimono and the tea ceremony, and even experienced playing kito. This is an exceptional experience and highly recommended.

The owner is very knowledgeable and tells a lot of interesting stories, so the time goes by very quickly. It was a valuable experience to experience the tea ceremony and the koto, which are all extraordinary.

Conveniently located near Shin-Urayasu Station, you can have a great experience. You can also experience playing the koto after having a tea party experience. The interior and sweets are also wonderfully attentive to detail. The story of the knowledgeable owner is also very interesting!

In a nutshell, it was such a wonderful experience! The space is wonderful from the moment you enter, and the owner's sense of style shines through. And while the Japanese tea ceremony and koto may sound difficult, the owner is more cheerful and frank, so you can learn while having fun. He has a wide range of knowledge and experience, so I'm sure he'll be able to fully enjoy the conversation.

It was a great experience. Noriko's home was very authentic Japanese style. I learnt about tea ceremony from its history, meanings of routines and tea utensils. Japanese sweet provided was very tasty, match with "macha" tea. I also enjoyed listening "koto", Japanese musical instrument, that Noriko played. It was like visiting Japanese friend's home.

I am so happy to have had such a wonderful experience on my first trip to Japan! The matcha tea in the lovely bowls was very tasty, and the koto was interesting with its own unique musical notation and sounds. I hope everyone will experience this feeling!
