Hi, I'm Aki! I'm a Japanese mom who loves cooking and meeting people from around the world. As a former backpacker and mother of three, I enjoy sharing Japanese culture in a warm and personal way.
In this class, I’ll show you how to make ramen and gyoza from scratch using fresh, natural ingredients—no MSG or artificial flavorings. We’ll knead the noodles, prepare a rich broth, and create delicious homemade dumplings together.
Think of me as your “Tokyo mom”—here to guide you, cook with you, and help you feel right at home.
If you have any dietary needs—such as food allergies, or vegan or halal preferences—please mention them when booking. While I’ll do my best to adjust the ingredients, please note that I may not be able to accommodate all requests.

Take time from the frenetic pace of Tokyo and spend a few hours with a wonderful host that is warm and welcoming. The space is wonderful, contemplative and ideal for the class. Aki is a person that remains curious about this world and loves meeting new people. The whole process of the food making and preparation was just 👌. Timing of everything is down pat. If you are even half considering it...just do it. Our family of 4 loved everything about the experience. Thank you Aki for creating a great food memory of Japan for us. Calvin K.

My husband and two 21 year old children and I did did a Ramen and Gyoza class with Aki last week and it was such a highlight of my time in Japan. The kitchen is very cool with a great vibe, Aki is just adorable with great English and cooking skills. We made a very tasty broth from scratch and our very own noodles under her guidance. Her instruction was wonderful and we also made the filling and folded our very own gyoza. At the end we got to sit and enjoy the feast we created. Aki kindly took lots pf photos of our day in the kitchen and sent them to us with all the recipes. We cant wait to return to Australia and make it all again. Thank you Aki, it was a magical day with you. I highly recommend this class, you will not be disappointed.

Aki’s cooking class was a highlight of our time in Japan. I couldn’t recommend it more. The quality of the ingredients was beautiful, we learned so much about Japanese food history and cooking techniques. Aki was lovely and it was so nice to be welcomed into the beautiful space. Our ramen and gyoza was some of the best we have ever eaten, definitely try this out if you’re in Shinjuku.

A lovely experience from start to finish. We spent two hours making ramen and gyoza (including the ramen from scratch!), with some time to eat afterwards. Aki is a kind and engaging host, and the cooking class was extremely enjoyable. Our session was a cosy, two-person session, although a previous class had a few more participants. Our session was also a vegan class, for which Aki was very accommodating. I recommend this for anyone with an interest in cooking, and is suitable for both English and Japanese speakers. We are planning on returning as soon as possible.

Ali was an incredible host! We made the most delicious Ramen and Gioza. We were running late for our appointment and she helped us through being lost and then welcomed us with open arms despite being 20 minutes late. This was a really authentic Japanese experience and we highly recommend particularly on a rainy day!

Great cooking experience in Tokyo with Aki! We had the pleasure of attending a 3 hour cooking class in Tokyo and it was an absolute highlight of our trip! Our hostess, the wonderful Aki, led us through the course with a lot of patience and charm. We have learned to prepare two fantastic Japanese dishes: * Gyoza (Japanese pasta): Aki showed us all the tricks to prepare the filling perfectly and to artfully fold the pastry. * Ramen: We have prepared a delicious ramen broth and all the necessary side dishes. The atmosphere was very pleasant and casual from start to finish. You immediately felt comfortable and had a lot of fun cooking together. It was a great experience to stand in Aki's kitchen with friends. Best of all: The food was extremely delicious in the end! We were incredibly proud of our homemade dishes. Conclusion: The cooking class with Aki was not only informative, but also a great culinary and social experience. We would repeat this course at any time and can highly recommend it to any Tokyo visitor who wants to experience authentic Japanese cuisine in a relaxed environment!

This 2.5 hour cooking and eating experience was led by Aki, our wonderful teacher! In excellent English, Aki guided us in making delicious ramen dishes (one meat and one vegetarian to accommodate different dietary needs in the family) and gyoza (also doing meat and vegetarian options). We made our noodles from scratch and learned about umami ingredients and where bonita flakes come from! In a beautiful space, we enjoyed eating our creations at a lovely table. It was delicious!!! This is an opportunity to learn about Japanese food, appreciate the work that goes into making these classic dishes and of course enjoy eating some delicious food. The conversation with Aki was also very enjoyable! Highly recommend!!!
