Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine
Enjoy Fushimi Inari Shrine, a Shinto shrine dedicated to the guardian deity of agriculture, Fushimi-Inari. Experience the wonder of walking through the seemingly endless vermillion torii gates, and see if you can spot the fox statues in the shrine, who are said to be spiritual messengers.
Arashiyama
Meet your expert guide and visit Arashiyama, which has been a popular nature-viewing destination since the Heian Period. Take a stroll through the cool Sagano Bamboo Forest and listen to the distinct rustle of bamboo leaves as you walk. You can also see the "moon-crossing bridge," Togetsukyo, as you walk along the beautiful Katsura River.

5.00This tour was absolutely top-notch! Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the day smooth and enjoyable. We loved exploring Arashiyama Park — especially the bamboo forest — and the visit to Fushimi Inari Shrine was unforgettable. The optional lunch was delicious, and transportation between the sites was super comfortable. A perfect way to see the highlights of Kyoto in just one day. Totally worth it and highly recommended!

5.00Perfect tour to hit the highlights of Kyoto in a day! We had our tour with Ma-Chan who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and kept us all on schedule. This is a longer tour — we departed from the Osaka Namba Station around 9am and did not get back until around 6pm. Budget plenty of time to find the pick up spot near the OCAT building because it is hard to find. Wear comfortable walking shoes because it’s a lot of walking — we walked around 8 miles. I would bring snacks and water for the bus ride, and cash to buy snacks and souvenirs at the food stands and shops. Big thank you to Ma-Chan for a wonderful tour. The maps for each stop were very helpful!

5.00October 2024, my brother (33 yrs old multi-ethnic American male) and I (37 yrs old multi-ethnic American female) selected this experience for the scenic train. However, we received so MUCH more!!! First off, we had the most wonderful, knowledgeable, and polite guide, Yasushi (Josh) Matsumoto. With great patience and excitement he showed us to each location, and gave us information as well as independence to explore. Without giving out too much information, the train ride wowed us (the left side had more scenic diversity than the right side), the route to the temple was busy (so stay close to your companions) but worth the majestic beauty at top, and the buffet offered fresh and seasonal dishes (please note, a buffet means to eat your full at one-go not multiple fill ups). We recommend Sagano Romantic Train etc to anyone that enjoys scenic landscapes, beautiful examples of architecture, and excellent guides. We are planning to go again Oct/Nov 2025 with more people! P.s Thank you to our terrific driver, Koyama for giving everyone a pleasant and safe round-trip. Again thank you, Yasushi, you are the best!!! Note: we have sooo much details to give, but do not wish to spoil the experience for future travelers.
