This Session is personally hosted by the owner — a former sake brewer who trained for a year at a sake brewery in Osaka.
It is a masterclass-style experience where you can learn about the history, brewing process, and cultural depth of Japanese sake while savoring its diverse flavors.
The session takes place at "Sake Pairing Bar Potan", a refined space designed with traditional Japanese architecture where sake truly takes center stage.
Located in the Fukushima area, just minutes from central Osaka, it offers a serene yet accessible setting to learn directly from a sake professional.
As for me, the owner — I Traveled around 35 countries at the age of 20, immersing myself in different cultures.
That journey made me rediscover the beauty and richness of Japan, inspiring me to share its culture with people around the world through sake.
Beyond sake itself, I also love cross-cultural exchange, and I look forward to enjoying meaningful conversations with all of you during the experience.

Was incredibly fortunate to visit Potan for a sake pairing session. The owner is wonderful host and talked each of us through the different types of sake, as well as the delicious paired food dishes. It’s a must-visit. If you’re a sake lover like me, you’ll be in your element. If you’ve never tasted sake for, you’ll be a convert. I’ve travelled to Japan a lot so I often get asked for itinerary ideas. Potan has made the list for any of my friends visiting Osaka. The venue would be great for a date night or a larger group experience.

This is an experience you rarely get the chance to have. Learning about sake directly from an owner who once worked as a sake brewer made this truly special. It was an incredible experience—both educational and enjoyable—and one of the highlights of my time in Japan. Thank you so much, Yuki, for such an unforgettable experience!

I’ve always loved Japan, so discovering this experience on my very first trip to the country made it even more special. Yuki is humorous, deeply knowledgeable about sake, and guides you into the fascinating world of sake in a way that’s both fun and engaging. Learning about the history, regional character, and differences in flavor was incredibly interesting, and it left me truly impressed by the depth of Japan’s traditional craftsmanship. At the end, he even gave us a sake profile sheet, which means I’ll be able to order sake with confidence from now on! Thank you for such an amazing experience, Yuki. I’ll definitely come back to see you again!

Yuki was an incredibly unique and memorable guide! The sake lecture, the lineup of sake we tasted, the explanations, and above all, the atmosphere of the space were absolutely amazing. I was especially surprised by atsukan (warm sake) — I never imagined that simply changing the temperature could alter the flavor so dramatically. Yuki also taught us how to recognize good-quality sake, which will definitely be useful the next time I order or buy sake. I can confidently and wholeheartedly recommend this experience. You won’t regret it — I promise! (Seriously 😄)

It's a perfectly atmospheric bar. The staff was kind, and it was nice to learn about Elson Saker. Next time you go to Osaka, I'd like to visit again :)

This was truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Both the sake itself and the explanations from the guide — a former sake brewer — were outstanding. If you come to Osaka, this is an absolute must-do experience. Don’t miss it — seriously!

A perfect experience: the tasting was varied, in a calm and lovely setting, and we were lucky enough to have Yuki, our server, who answered our many questions, always with a smile! I'm French, my wife is Italian, and we really wanted to discover sake because it's an alcoholic beverage we know very little about: thanks to Yuki, we were able to taste some delicious products, so I highly recommend it!

Wonderful experience! Highly recommended! Yuki is an active sake brewer and incredibly knowledgeable. He explains everything from how sake is made to its flavors and regional differences in a clear and engaging way. The staffs are super helpful too! Every sake we tried was unique, and the experience really showed how deep and fascinating sake can be. Love every side dish it provided! Tofu dessert is the most impressive!

This experience was truly one of the highlights of my time in Japan. Yuki, the owner and host, guided us through the world of sake in a way that was engaging, easy to understand, and full of personality. His English was great, and his explanations felt especially authentic because he is still actively involved in sake brewing. Through the tasting, I learned how dramatically sake can differ in flavor, and how even changing the serving temperature can completely transform the taste of the same sake. More than just a tasting, this experience offered a deeper understanding of sake and Japanese culture- the whole reason for my visit to Japan! Yuki make sure that everything was thoughtfully curated, and I left with a new appreciation for how complex and fascinating sake truly is. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Japan — whether you’re new to sake or already a fan.
