The tour begins inside The Guy Fawkes Inn (on High Petergate, opposite Michael Le Belfrey's church). From there you'll learn about the famous conspirators and the gun powder plot, in the very birthplace of Guy Fawkes himself!
We'll then proceed to York Minster yard, where you'll learn all about the Minsters rich history. We'll also visit several other famous spots in York, including The Shambles, Museum Gardens, and many more!
The important thing to remember when booking, is that no 2 tours are the same! Depending on how much time you have and what your interests are I'll make each tour as personalised as I'm able.
The tour stops listed are just a few of many other places I can take you in York, so if you decide to come back for another tour, you can guarantee it will be very different from the previous excursion!

5.00Dave was a delightful Tour Guide. His knowledge of the Minster and York was outstanding. The small group was entertained with interesting facts and anecdotes. Dave did his best to structure the tour to the interests of the group. The tour lasted almost two hours and, if we had the stamina, Dave would have continued all day. Absolutely recommended!

5.00Dave's tours are highly recommended. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge of York and its colourful history, and he brings it to life in a very witty way. He will also customise the tour depending on the interests of the people visiting, and it feels like a very personalised experience. It's very good value for this level of experience, and judging by the way in which Dave knew and saluted everyone by name as we went round the outside of the Minster, he's a local character himself, and that draws you into his circle. On a cold, wet November day, there were only 3 couples on our tour and we had all our queries answered.

5.00Dave is so knowledgable and truly joyful about his history niche that this tour is overloaded with reasons to go. It was unique in that it was open-ended - as long as we wanted to make the tour. He offered an all-day option - though I left after 3 ish hours and a lovely coffee break, during which Dave also demonstrated his James Bond trivia expanse. Rarely does one see someone so enjoying his job.

5.00We had a great 2 hour walking tour with Dave. He is literally a walking talking York encyclopedia as he has an incredible amount of knowledge - and a good sense of humor. He showed us places we never would’ve found on our own. Thanks Dave!
