The tour begins inside The Guy Fawkes Inn (on High Petergate, opposite Michael Le Belfrey's church). From there you'll learn about the famous conspirators and the gun powder plot, in the very birthplace of Guy Fawkes himself!
We'll then proceed to York Minster yard, where you'll learn all about the Minsters rich history. We'll also visit several other famous spots in York, including The Shambles, Museum Gardens, and many more!

5.00Stayed at the guy faulks hotel met Dave and joined the tour from there.This guy knows everything about york and it's history. Tells it in a confident but also a jovial style. Would highly recommend. Keith and Julie Halifax.

5.00Dave was a lovely man, extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the Minster - he had some quirky facts for us and was very happy to answer all our questions in full. Be aware that because it was December and the city was SO busy, we couldn’t really venture into places like the Shambles or any of the other historic areas. Dave was very flexible and would have tailored the tour to us, he even offered to return the next day for us if we had wanted him too.

5.00We had a lovely morning with Dave! He offered to tailor the tour to us. He is very knowledgeable and informative - the wealth of knowledge on York was far more than we could’ve imagined or taken in! We had a toddler in a pram with us and the walk was fine in terms of paths.
Difficult guided tour for non-British people

3.00My friend and I booked this tour of York as it was our first time there and we wanted to know a bit more about the city. We were excited about doing the tour as we had seen good reviews online. Unfortunately, we had to leave the tour early as we could not understand the guide’s strong accent from Leeds. We tried for more than 1h to follow his explanations but we did not manage to understand him and to connect with him. We are Spanish and we both have been living in London for years, so we are used to British accent and to meeting people from different places, but it seems that the audience of this tour is more British people rather than international/tourists visiting York. We don’t want to critize the guide’s work but we wanted to share our experience in case it helps people who are considering booking the tour.

1.00Disappointed 😞 The guide didn't show up! He didn't answer my calls! There were other people waiting for him as well. It's so disrespectful and unprofessional. Hope to receive a refund.

1.00Guide didn’t turn up! Phone number didn’t work. Asking for help from Guy Fawkes pub was a waste of time n very unpleasant. I wasn’t the only one either … how do I get a refund?

5.00Myself and my father in law attended daves tour thismorning. It was a really good couple of hours. Dave is a really nice bloke and so, so knowledgeable about York and it's history. I would really recommend going on one of daves walking tours!!
