Dare you take a trip into the past and uncover some of York’s turbulent and tragic history? A past that manifests itself in the unexplained sightings of shadows haunting our streets and buildings.

Let us take you on a journey through the streets and snickleways and tell you about the shadows of York.

Note: The tour is rated PG and not recommended for under 8's.

The stories change from time to time. But they do contain in depth historic details, some of which can be dark, sad or gory.

These may include executions, plague, suicide or any other grim facts.

Some young children may find it disturbing.

Josh was a great guide. He was knowledgable and his stories were really interesting, delivered with the right amount of theatrics and tension. He was happy to answer questions and was really friendly as we walked between ghostly spots. Would highly recommend this tour as good value for money and a fun way to spend 90 minutes. If you only do one activity in York do this. You will not be disappointed. Dan our guide delivered everything you could hope for on a Ghost walk. Facts, facts and more facts dramatically and atmospherically retold that made you shiver.

Josh was one of the best historians/storyteller by far very immersive !! Would even do it again worth every penny. The foggy cold evening made even better to the immersive atmosphere

Dan was great, the price was very reasonable for the hour and a half. Would highly recommend doing this tour when visiting York

We visited York and had to take in a ghost walk and this one stood out! Our guide Josh was brilliant! Funny and factual in equal measures, it seemed he even 'arranged' for creepy organ music from the Minster during one ghostly experience story! Winding our way through old alleyways and cut through from church yards to haunted pubs for around 90 mins was a great way to see and feel a little more of Yorks creepy past!.

Fantastic tour! Dan was excellent and was so knowledgeable! He really made the tour and the stories were great!! Would really recommend this tour to anyone who likes ghost stories and wants to see York!

Right from the beginning, Dan our tour guide was very welcoming and friendly. Despite it being a very cold evening Dan worked hard to keep us all interested in the many stories (scary and historical) of our beautiful city of York. The size of the group was perfect at 28. His knowledge of the city's history was excellent and he spoke to us with humour as well as very good knowledge. I did learn a lot about the city I live in! Dan was happy to answer any questions and it was clear he does enjoy his job. Thank you to Dan.

Very entertaining walk. Dan did a great job in making the walk entertaining. Great stories, we can recommend tour to all. We had very international group and all enjoyed.
