The Temple of Heaven was a place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties acted as interlocutors between humanity and the god of heaven, offering sacrifices to the God of heaven and praying for a bountiful harvest. The entire building is surrounded by hundreds years old pine trees. There are a total of 92 ancient buildings and 600 rooms in the architectural complex. It is the most complete existing royal sacrificial architecture complex in China and also the largest surviving celestial sacrificial architecture complex in the world. The Temple of Heaven was included in the The World Heritage List in November 1998. The Temple of Heaven is located in the center of Beijing and can be reached by subway, bus or taxi easily. Book tickets in advance and enter directly with the QR code received in advance. You can enjoy exploring this cultural complex at your own pace.
