What To Expect

Asakusa

Asakusa (浅草) is the center of Tokyo's shitamachi (literally "low city"), one of Tokyo's districts, where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. Asakusa's main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple, built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via the Nakamise, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries.

Imperial Palace

**This tour does not include access to the inside of the Imperial Palace** The current Imperial Palace is located on the former site of Edo Castle, a large park area surrounded by moats and massive stone walls in the center of Tokyo, a short walk from Tokyo Station. It is the residence of Japan's Imperial Family. Edo Castle used to be the seat of the Tokugawa shogun who ruled Japan from 1603 until 1867. In 1868, the shogunate was overthrown, and the country's capital and imperial residence were moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. In 1888 construction of a new Imperial Palace was completed. The palace was once destroyed during World War Two, and rebuilt in the same style, afterwards.

Shuji is very friendly and knowledgeable about everything!! If you are looking to tour the city with ease while visiting some of the hotspots, booking with Shuji is your best bet!! Shuji was patient and allowed us to take our time and we really appreciated it. He was extremely helpful when it came to navigating the train system also! We had a great time and will book again!

We had an incredible 4-hour tour with Show! From the moment he met us at our hotel, he made us feel comfortable and confident navigating the city. We explored several fascinating sites on foot and by subway, and thanks to his clear guidance, we were able to travel back to our hotel on our own afterward with ease. Show was kind, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable—not just about the history and culture, but also about the best hidden spots, including a fabulous local restaurant where we enjoyed one of our favorite meals in Japan. Our only regret is not booking a longer tour—we could have spent the whole day with him! Highly recommend!

Sam, our tour guide, was friendly, very helpful, down to earth and just a good person. She went out of her way to answer our questions. She picked a nice tonkatsu restaurant that we requested at the end of the of our tour.

Komaki was such a wonderful tour guide. She was so easy to communicate with before we arrived in Tokyo and made it so easy to decide what to do for our tour and the best way to do it. She was so knowledgeable about history and culture and answered all of our questions. She was so funny and personable and we had such a good time! Highly recommend booking a tour with her!
