Tokyo is where you can experience both modern and traditional, and your experienced private guide will help you efficiently enjoy a full day in this dynamic Japanese capital. Let us know what you would like to experience, and we will customize a six-hour tour that's best for you!

Asakusa
Asakusa (浅草) is the center of Tokyo's shitamachi (literally "low city"), one of Tokyo's districts, where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. Asakusa's main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple, built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via the Nakamise, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries.
Imperial Palace
**This tour does not include access to the inside of the Imperial Palace** The current Imperial Palace is located on the former site of Edo Castle, a large park area surrounded by moats and massive stone walls in the center of Tokyo, a short walk from Tokyo Station. It is the residence of Japan's Imperial Family. Edo Castle used to be the seat of the Tokugawa shogun who ruled Japan from 1603 until 1867. In 1868, the shogunate was overthrown, and the country's capital and imperial residence were moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. In 1888 construction of a new Imperial Palace was completed. The palace was once destroyed during World War Two, and rebuilt in the same style, afterwards.

He was amazing, brought us to areas that we never would’ve thought of going to. Gave us an amazing tour of Tokyo, and gave us the opportunity to learn the subway, which is exactly what we were looking for.

We had a great day with Karen! This was the perfect way to kick off our trip to Tokyo. Highly recommend booking on your first full day there. We had no idea where to start so our tour guide Karen gave us a great overview of the city, hit the major highlights, and taught us how to use the subway. Karen was incredibly knowledgeable, spoke great English, and catered the day based on our interests (and needs when we started melting in the heat). Her maps & photos were also really helpful to explain where we were & all the different things around Tokyo worth seeing.

Kenji was a wonderful tour guide! He shares lot of information with us, interesting facts that made our trip fun and invaluable. We went from the modern to the historical parts of Tokyo. Kenji showed us more than we expected. We spent enough time at the places we wanted to see and he also took us to the Kitchen Street where my husband was able to buy a couple knives that he wanted. All in all, we would highly recommend Kenji and would not hesitate to hire him as our guide again. Thank you, Kenji😙💕

Sammy was wonderful. He kept on task to do all the things we wanted to do. He was flexible when it got too hot and one of us got sick. He gave us plenty of breaks (as needed). Our guide also gave us recommendations on food. He gave us a wonderful history of the places we visited. This is a full transit and walking tour. Please be advised to eat breakfast and bring snacks and water. Or ask to stop for a snack.
