Tokyo is where you can experience both modern and traditional, and your experienced private guide will help you efficiently enjoy a full day in this dynamic Japanese capital. Let us know what you would like to experience, and we will customize a six-hour tour that's best for you!

Asakusa
Asakusa (浅草) is the center of Tokyo's shitamachi (literally "low city"), one of Tokyo's districts, where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. Asakusa's main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple, built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via the Nakamise, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries.
Imperial Palace
**This tour does not include access to the inside of the Imperial Palace** The current Imperial Palace is located on the former site of Edo Castle, a large park area surrounded by moats and massive stone walls in the center of Tokyo, a short walk from Tokyo Station. It is the residence of Japan's Imperial Family. Edo Castle used to be the seat of the Tokugawa shogun who ruled Japan from 1603 until 1867. In 1868, the shogunate was overthrown, and the country's capital and imperial residence were moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. In 1888 construction of a new Imperial Palace was completed. The palace was once destroyed during World War Two, and rebuilt in the same style, afterwards.

Kazu is very friendly and knowledgeable and will make sure you see as much as possible. He did a great job of adding our requested stops along the way. Seeing so much in just a few hours was great but also quite a fast pace, with a lot of walking and not much time for exploring local areas. This was our goal because of limited time in Tokyo. Everyone in the family is a big fan of Kazu!

This tour provides a good overview of some of Tokyo’s most iconic cultural attractions. We were also able to mix in some local markets. Michio was a wealth of knowledge and great guide.

Experience was great and we had a wonderful tour. Only downside was the fact that you still need to pay for transportation and lunch for both the tour guide and yourself when your already paying so much for the tour.

Sam was a fantastic tour guide! I cannot say enough great things. She planned the tour well in advance and texted me the itinerary right away, confirming we were comfortable with it. She taught us how to use the subway, took pictures for us so we could enjoy the moments instead of worrying about taking pictures, brought us to a lunch spot only the locals would know, and kept us right on schedule for the whole day. The tour was great and I would highly recommend! Ask for Sam!
