Arakurayama Sengen Park
Arakurayama Sengen Park, home to the iconic Chureito Pagoda, offers one of Japan’s most picturesque views, especially during the cherry blossom season in mid-April and the vibrant autumn foliage in November. Accessible via a short hike up 398 steps, the park provides a stunning panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and the cityscape below.
Important Update: Due to 2025 cherry blossom season traffic regulations (Apr 1-18), we'll skip the Hikawa Clock Shop to maximize your time at Arakurayama Park. The extended walk from parking makes this adjustment necessary. Next, you’ll visit the Shimoyoshida Tokei-ten Shop, a hidden gem at the foot of Mount Fuji. Here, you’ll discover the “Stairway to Heaven Town”, a quiet street that resembles a stairway to the sky, leading to the end of the road where you’ll find the elusive Mount Fuji. It’s a place where you can get incredibly close to the mountain, yet it seems just out of reach. You’ll capture the essence of Japanese streetscape and witness the seamless fusion of Mount Fuji with the street – a unique and picturesque experience. This spot is perfect for photography enthusiasts.
Gather at pickup point: Travelers will need to gather at Tokyo Station at least 15 min ahead

We had an unforgettable trip with our guide Hikari. He was attentive and went above and beyond, suggesting great dining spots and helping my friend and me whenever needed. His thoughtfulness and dedication truly enhanced the experience. Since it’s not the peak season, the crowd size was comfortable for us. Highly recommended!

I've always wanted to go to Mount Fuji but never found the opportunity. I finally went to Japan this year with my good friends on an appointment. We were lucky enough to go there with good weather and only a little snow top left to burn, but it was shocking! I heard the driver say that anyone who can see Mount Fuji will have good luck this year. To borrow his auspicious words, I hope to get a promotion and raise this year!

No bus. No communications. Asks for meeting details months ago and no response. No show. Call to them unanswered. Aviator no help at all. Avoid this scammer. I am now stuck at Tokyo station.

Firstly the instructions of where to meet was vague, I sent a message via WhatsApp 2 days before to ask for more clarity but had no reply. So aware of the time constraints we arrived 50 mins early, yet could not find the provider. The guide, Kevin sent me a message at 10:30pm the night before but due to lack of WIFI I could not pick this up until much later, we literally only found the meeting point because another guide helped us. Kevin, our guide, on a personal level is really friendly but on a professional level, he is not the greatest guide compared to other trips we went on with other providers. His English is limited, therefore instructions are hard to follow. He does not give any actually information about the places - ie why the pergola is of importance or why Mount Fuji is so important to the Japanese people ( I learnt this on another trip with another provider and we weren’t even going to Mount Fuji!) Kevin is more of a time keeper to ensure you know where to buy food and to get on the coach on time to keep to schedule. He tells a few jokes on the bus but to be honest I would rather have had something of interest. The sites are great but I do not think this is the best provider. For example the information said up to 21 people on this trip and there was over 40 on our trip! We spent 10 mins standing on a street corner, which could have shown us a view of Mount Fuji but because it was cloudy, you could not see anything, yet we stood there for 10 minutes - everyone was perplexed! We then had to rush to the pergola and had limited time to get up and down over 398 steep steps, without any consideration for including all abilities of fitness and physical abilities. I totally agree with Kevin that if you are late the bus won’t wait - but two of our party, who were Spanish, did not understand the instruction to meet back on the bus and therefore stood at the meeting point, outside of the bus. In my opinion Kevin should have been waiting outside the bus too, to ensure people got on, but he waited on the bus and subsequently the bus drove off and left our fellow passengers behind! In short, this is a good day trip but source another provider!

It was a classic Chinese bustour which we didn't know when we booked. We were the only two Europeans on the bus. You visit all the good photospots and our guide Kevin was really friendly. But just be aware you will be walking in big groups to the same spots.
