We had a fantastic time at Versailles! Alistair was an incredibly knowledgeable tour guide who personalized the experience based on our interests and questions. I particularly enjoyed exploring the gardens with him—being guided through them rather than wandering on our own made the experience much more enriching. I would recommend visiting after April 1st if possible, as many of the statues were still covered and none of the fountains were running during our visit. However, Alistair was well-prepared and showed us videos of how everything looks when fully operational, which helped bring the experience to life. Overall, it was an amazing visit, and we highly recommend it!

If you are looking to book a tour that does not simply show you Versailles, but one that paints a picture and tells a story that will immerse you into another time, look no further. Alistair will lead you through the gardens and grounds of Versailles, explaining the history, architecture, and vision that makes Versailles come to life. I’m always a fan of small group tours that are owner run, and this one did not disappoint. Thank you!!

Wonderful tour of gardens and Marie Antoinette’s hamlet! Alistair is very engaging and quite a storyteller! Pace was right with lots of walking but well planned breaks for coffee and lunch. Ended in the palace and the audio guide would have been helpful. I downloaded the palace app but found it difficult to navigate in crowded spaces and wanting to take pics. Well worth the investment to introduce my granddaughter and daughter to some French history! Many thanks to Alistair!
