• Nice tour - big crowds

  The tour to Versailles was generally pretty enjoyable except for the crowds which isn't in the control of the tour company. We definitely learned more by taking this tour than if we had just gone on our own and walked around. Our guide Lucia was pleasant and helpful and shared some nice stories about what we were seeing. Given the crowd I think it was better to have a tour to get in without waiting in a long line and if we had done it ourselves we might have just rushed through and not known what we were seeing. I wish we had had a little more time after the tour to walk around the gardens and get lunch but we were a bit rushed in order to catch the bus back. However, not having to worry about taking the train was appreciated.

  While our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of France and Versailles, I was disappointed in the rushed feeling of the tour. Some of us wanted to take pictures and it was quite difficult. The crowds in Versailles were crazy and trying to follow our guide, even with his flag, was challenging. While we had the opportunity to spend a few hours in the garden area, which wasn’t pleasant due to the rain and cold, we didn’t spend a lot of time in the palace. If it’s as crowded as it was on a chilly, rainy day, I’d hate to see this place on a nice day. While our guide had no control over the crowds, he did have control over the speed of his tour. The one bonus was getting in through the group entrance.

  Our guide was outstanding and his stories made the experience come alive. I would highly recommend taking a guided visit.

  Excellent guide Mauro let us on a tour of the beautiful palace and provided insightful and informative dialogue throughout. Bus ride took less than 45 minutes and despite the crowds we saw everything. Only regret was not having more time.

  The Versailles Palace and Garden tour was incredibly organized and comprehensive. Everything ran smoothly, and we were able to see all the highlights without feeling rushed. Our tour guide, Lucia, was excellent. She was pleasant, knowledgeable, engaging, and attentive to everyone’s questions. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Versailles!
