San Miguel de Allende
We will move from Fábrica la Aurora to visit our favorite vineyard. We will begin our tour exploring the beautiful gardens of the place, while admiring the architecture of the hacienda. We will dive into the history of wine in Mexico and learn about the origins of this vineyard. In addition, we will learn about the varieties of grapes cultivated and the favorable conditions that Guanajuato offers for their growth. We will continue our adventure exploring the production area, where we will delve into the fascinating winemaking process. Afterwards, we will go to the cellar, where the aging and maturation of the wines takes place. The most exciting part is yet to come: we will enjoy a tasting of three wines paired with delicious local cheeses and meats in the charming viewpoint of the vineyard. If you are a wine lover, get ready to discover the most awarded winery in the state of Guanajuato, come and enjoy an unforgettable experience.

5.00We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this tour. The vineyard has a wonderful story and how it all got started. The vineyard is small and the owner wanted to make something special and made produces organic wines. I enjoy red wine and they have three varieties. One was better than the other.

5.00We had a wonderful time visiting San Jose Lavista! It's such a beautiful location and our wine tasting/tour guide was excellent. Very impressive operation here as they grow their grapes organically and do all of the processing on-site. The wines are delicious! The owner/architect has built a lovely place for a vineyard/winery and wedding destination/celebration. Well worth the visit! I highly recommend making the trip outside San Miguel to spend a few hours here.

5.00Excellent- one of best wineries and visits we have been on. Great communication re pick-up. (The pick up point - La Aurora/ Fabrica, is interesting in itself! ) A Beautiful estate out of the city, with stunning buildings designed by the architect owner/ vineyard owner / wine maker. What a setting! ( it also doubles as a gorgeous wedding venue, complete with its own church.) Stephania was a knowledgeable and fun guide- actively involved in the organic wine production and a sommelier, running part of the operation. We learnt a lot as she guided us through the wine making process, that is housed in a custom designed building- including showing us the ‘wine library ‘ below ground level! that was custom made. The tasting room had a 360degree view of the countryside, high up in the ‘cupula’ . And the wine? Wow! We bought 3 bottles which says a lot for us. The pairings with particular fruits/ cheeses were exquisite. And Stephania explained in detail why/ what…and the effect with different wines. So glad we booked this. A special day.

1.00The driver came late to pick us up there was another couple and we have to ride all four in a small car. The grounds were beautiful but the lady that gave us the tour was in a hurry we paid 185 dollars for this tour and they only gave us a tablet of cheeses and a few fruits for all our group not recommend take another tour

5.00Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She answered all of our questions and took time to explain the operation of the vineyard. The whole property was beautiful and the view was outstanding. We highly recommend this tour!

1.00We paid for this tour one month in advance. The tour company showed up 10 minutes late, there was a second couple waiting at the pickup location near us, and the driver called the name of that couple- I asked if it was for us and he again said the other name, the other couple went to the sedan got in and then a few minutes later after making a phone call the driver said he was there for us as well. This was not a big car and the couple was in the backseat so my husband or I would have had to have squeezed into the backseat with the other couple and one of us ride up front with the driver, we paid $185 USD for this and expected a van if it were more than just us being transported. It seemed like they didn’t even realize they were supposed to pick us up until I said something and when the manager called me about the situation he admitted that a van is normally sent but the van was being utilized elsewhere to drive employees at the time of our tour- again, I don’t think they had properly planned to pick up two couples at the time of our tour. They offered to send the car back to get us after they dropped the other couple off- but I declined as we had paid in full a month before and arrived on time to our pick up location but they did NOT hold up their end of the contract. Viator did not see a problem with any of this and so we will never support Viator or this tour company again in the future and I advise you to do the same. Bad business.
