After more than 10 years of working in restaurants, I decided to take the next step and use my knowledge of wine in a more creative way. In February 2021 I left my hometown, Amsterdam, to host wine tastings here in Valencia.
I have developed myself by working in some of the best Michelin starred restaurants in Europe. Besides the practical work I got educated in the highest Dutch wine studies, “Vinologen” and in the highest level of the most well-known wine studies worldwide: WSET4.
What distinguishes a wine tasting with me from the rest? My personality and ability to treat people and give them an unforgettable evening. A unique location with a guaranteed feel-good atmosphere and ultimately an enormous repertoire of wine knowledge, so that you will hardly find a question that I cannot answer.

Treat yourself to the unique experience of an artisanal Spanish wine tasting hosted by a 3 Michelin Star Sommelier. My name is Tristan Van Doorn and I have worked as a Sommelier in some of the best Michelin restaurants in Europe. Arriving at one of the beautiful locations in the heart of Valencia, you will be welcomed with an aperitif. We will then begin tasting 5 artisanal Spanish wines while I go into detail about each wine, how wines from one region differ from the other and how the quality of the wine is determined. To compliment the tasting, you will also enjoy some typical Spanish tapas and some high-end Petit Fours!

5.00I had such a wonderful time at this wine tasting! The selection was impressive - every glass offered something unique. Tristan was knowledgeable and friendly explaining each wine’s background in a simple way to anyone to understand. I will definitely come back and I highly recommender.

3.00We Visited the Wine tasting with Tristan last July. First of all I must say that the Location picked was really nice. A pretty Atmosphere in the heart of Valencia. We were welcomed with an incredibly good Cava, which is now my favourite go to! Perfect to start the evening off! We got seated and the room started to get fuller and fuller - around 25 people. Not the privacy of a group size that I would when I pay 55€ for a Tasting of approx 1.25 hour (+ a little Time to eat afterwards). Starting off, he shared some general Information about the Spanish Grapes and Wines. Kind of interesting but rather superficial.Still great when you are a beginner. With the experience he has I am sure aware he could maybe even offer Winetastings for rather experienced Wine enthusiasts to share his knowledge with. Still Tristan is very good when it comes to teaching and telling. I just assume we were just not his target group. After the tasting we were served with little Tapas (Jamon/Queso) and bread. Here I would have wished for a slightly better quality- at least when it comes to the bread which really felt not fresh at all- def. a point that can be increased with minor changes. In general, you get quite an overview of the Spanish wines at this tasting. Good for when you are only in Valencia for a few days and don´t have the time or motivation to visit a Winery outside of the city, or when you are completely new in this Field.
