Mikumi National Park

Begin your journey in Zanzibar, flying with domestic flight to Mikumi National Park, known for its Mkata flood plains, reminiscent of the Serengeti. Upon arrival at Kikoboga Airstrip, you'll be greeted by our driver-guide, who will outline the day's activities. Commence a game drive through the Mkata flood plains, a hotspot for wildlife viewing, where you may encounter elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and possibly predators such as hyenas, leopards, and lions. The area is also a habitat for the Sable Antelope, Great Kudu, and Eland, the world's largest antelope. Enjoy a midday hot lunch before further exploring the park. The afternoon features a visit to the renowned Hippo Pool, a gathering place for various wildlife. The day ends with a drive back to the airstrip for your domestic flight return flight to Zanzibar, carrying memories of the day's adventures.

Ali (our driver) and Ernest (our guide) were absolutely exceptional. I’ve been on trips where guides were good – but these two were on a completely different level. What stood out the most was their deep respect and consideration for the animals. I honestly felt they were among the most ethical and animal-respectful people we could have gone with. No chasing, no stress for the wildlife – everything was calm, thoughtful, and done the right way. Their knowledge was incredible. They knew everything – about the animals, their behavior, the park, and the best timing. Ali always found the perfect spots and positioned the car so we could see everything clearly, without disturbing nature. Ernest’s explanations were clear, fascinating, and full of insight. Thanks to them, we saw so much and in such a natural, respectful way. They always knew where to go and when, and every moment felt intentional and special. If you’re going to Mikumi National Park and want a truly unforgettable, ethical, and professional safari experience, Ali and Ernest are simply the best. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Incredible experience, we managed to see all the animals in one day thanks to our guide. The decor is breathtaking. If you have the chance to come across the Yohana as a guide you will not be disappointed I can assure you!!

A formidable and super recommended experience. The trip by plane type has gone very well, very professional pilots, (the airport in the morning is a bit messy Because there are many flights to the safaris, but like everything on the island, calmly, everything has gone well) and the safari itself, is great, is very well organized, the cars are well prepared and the reserve is very nice and with many animals. The guide:/chauffeur we have had, YOHANA, has been watching all along that we were okay, looking for the best places to see all the animates and with a lot of knowledge and respect to them. It was a 10! Recommended 100%. Thank you!
