Day 1

Our journey will start early in the morning from Dar es Salaam. Your driver will pick you up from the hotel or the airport if you arrive on a late-night flight. You will be driven to the SGR Train Station for your train to the Morogoro region, which will take approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival, our driver guide will pick you up and drive you to Mikumi National Park, which will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. You will have a late morning game drive and an evening game drive. After the game drives, your driver will take you back to the train station in Morogoro for your return train to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, our driver will pick you up and take you to your hotel, or if you have a flight at that time, our driver will drop you off at the airport. You will have a picnic lunch during the day's activities. The main activity will be a game drive.

Mikumi National Park

This tour is short, but you have the chance to see the Big Four. Mikumi National Park is Tanzania's fourth-largest national park and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. It covers an area of 3,230km² (1,250mi²) and is situated between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the southeast. Mikumi is home to buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards, crocodiles, birds, and many other animals.

We had such an amazing time on this one-day safari. Everything was well-organized, communication was attentive, and our guide was so knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with. We saw so many animals, I didn't think it would be possible!! Train travel was easy and pleasant. We would absolutely book a tour with Kihindo again!
