Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park lies alongside the Northern border of Africa's biggest Game Reserve - the SELOUS – forming a unique ecosystem. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the fashionable centrepiece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. Some spotted lions survey their grassy kingdom, and the Zebra, Giraffes, Elephants, Wildebeest, Impala, and Buffalo herds migrate across the park. This tour starts from Zanzibar airport at 07h00 and arrives at Mikumi Airstrip at 08h00, received by our safari guide. Directly you will start a safari game drive touring the game-rich area of Mkata plains. The plain is very famous for its concentrations of wildlife. Also, visiting the famous Hippo pool whereby many come to drink water. Hot lunch during lunchtime then proceeds with your journey exploring the African bushes before returning to the airstrip at around 15h30 for your flight back to Zanzibar.

A very nice experience that we are not about to forget! 🦁🌿 The care was perfect, everything was fluid and very well organized from start to finish. We were able to observe the animals at close range, with incredible visibility – a magical moment! Our guide and driver were great: passionate, professional and always attentive to our comfort. Their explanations really enriched the experience. The meal was correct and well organized during the day. Important tip: if you’re going from Zanzibar to Tanzania mainland, don’t forget your passport! I highly recommend this safari to live an exceptional adventure in the heart of African nature.

Felix our guide was excellent and so knowledgeable and had a real passion for the animals. We saw so many animals and close up. Lunch was excellent. Highly recommend.

The whole experience was very well organised from hotel pick up to drop off. We had an incredible day and got to see lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos and many many more. Our guides Yohana and Ernest were informative and friendly and gave us the best experience possible.

Great, except for the leopards all seen big five, in the first 10 minutes seen like lions chasing Pumbas and Giraffes. The guide, Ernest and our driver Bruno could answer all questions right away. Of course it was a bumpy ride, but Bruno had everything under control at all times and steered us safely through the park. Elephants and giraffes wherever the eye looked. The lunch was varied and filling.

Yohana and Ernest are quite excellent guides, they fulfilled every wish. A lot has been explained, great importance has been placed on safety. Yohana and Ernest complement each other across the board, Yohana speaks very good German and Ernest speaks very good English . We can only recommend the tour....Thanks for everything

Fantastic safari with yohana and Ernest, who took time to make sure we got an excellent experience. We managed to see lion family, hippos, elephants, giraffes, zebras and many more! We felt safe & comfortable at all times. Very happy with our experience

It was one of the most incredible experiences, to be next to wild African animals in their natural habitat. The park is very well preserved, clean and natural. The tour guides were very well informed, and very funny and professional. Thank you very much Lokushu and Yohann!

An absolutely perfect day, saw so many amazing animals couldn’t have asked for anything better. Tour guides where impeccable we had omar and fidelis and they always made sure we got the best pictures and saw all the animals and explained so well. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day can’t recommend enough.
