Nikko

Understand why “Don’t say ‘magnificent’ until you’ve seen Nikko” visiting the final resting place of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate and nearby shrines and temple. The most renowned shrine of “the Shrines and Temples of Nikko”-a Japan’s leading world heritage, is where Ieyasu Tokugawa, the great Shogun who started the flourishing Edo Period, is enshrined. Most of the shrine complex you see today was rebuilt in 17th century. The shrine contains 55 buildings including 8 national treasures and 34 listed buildings. The highlights are sumptuous carvings lacquered and richly coloured brilliantly, which you will gaze at craftsmanship assembled from all over the country. Do not miss the symbol of peace “Sleeping Cat”, and the “Three Monkeys” with the “see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil” poses!

    Adeel was very helpful in getting us to the main sights in Nikko. Excellent driving we felt very safe on the winding road to the lake and waterfall. He also recommended a perfect place for a sushi lunch.

    What a great day in Nikko, Toshogo Temple, Shinkyu Bridge, Lego Waterfall and Lake Fran Park lots of great sights. My favorite place is tge Lego Waterfall also a great place to get lunch. I highly recommend Green Apple travel and Vicky

    Had an amazing day with Vicky seeing all the best sights of Tokyo. He was very attentive and looked after me and my son. Took photos for us that we would not have been able to capture on our own. Would highly recommend Vicky and this tour.

    We had the most spectacular day with Vicky as our private tour guide! It was first class all the way. Nikko was such a magical place. Vicky started our day at the Shinkyo bridge , Keegan Falls, Lake Chuzenji , Kirifuri Waterfall and much more. He was very knowledgeable and courteous!     Usman was a fantastic guide. He was able to communicate clearly and drive safely. We went up to Nikko National Park and had an idea of what we wanted to see, and Usman was able to get us to all those places efficiently. The van was comfortable. Highly recommend Usman and Nikko National Park.

    We had a wonderful trip to Nikko and Lake to Chuzen-ji! We first stopped at Lake Chuzen-hi, and then we went to Kegon Falls. After that we went to the Shinkyo bridge, and then we had a wonderful lunch in town in Nikko (at Nagomi Chaya) where we were able to try the Yuba specialty. But the big highlight is, of course the Toshogu complex, which is as spectacular as people say it is. It’s even more spectacular than the pictures. The same for the Kegon waterfalls: the pictures do not do it justice. It is definitely worth a trip out here if you have an extra day in Tokyo. Our guide Vicky did a great job, he was extremely friendly and willing to go wherever we wanted to go. He also offered to take many group pictures of us, which we really appreciated. So I really recommend Ohayo trip!

    This one day tour to Tokyo, is amazing is a mixture of nature views and culture .The lake and waterfall are breathtaking the temple and shrine in my opinion are the best that I have seen in my trip to Japan.We love it.Viky did a great job was very patient with us.
