Ride a bike and hike through Hell’s Gate National Park on a full-day, private tour from Nairobi to the wildlife reserve and Lake Naivasha that includes entrance, bikes, and round trip-transport from Nairobi. This customizable tour offers the rare chance to see wildlife outside of a safari vehicle while exploring a scenic part of the Great Rift Valley.
Note: If you cannot bike, you can tour the park with the vehicle or walk, the driver/guide is happy to stop for photos of wildlife and scenery
In case you are also tired of biking and have not completed the trail, you can leave the bike on the side of the road and notify the guide and the car will come rescue you at no extra cost.
Theres also an e-bike option for beginners fitness level, to cover the distance with less effort and enjoy the activity without strain

Hell's Gate National Park
Begin with 7am pickup in Nairobi, then travel to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate National Park, with a break to get views of the Great Rift Valley from a scenic overlook along the way. Upon arriving in the park at roughly 9am, begin a 2-hour, guided bike/walking tour: watch for beautiful rock formations, herds of Thompson’s gazelle, eland, zebra, giraffes, warthogs and hartebeest as you ride. Keep an eye on the sky throughout the tour, as Hell’s Gate National Park is home to more than 100 species of birds, including Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards, vulture, and swifts. Continue on foot into the park’s distinctive gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are sunk into sedimentary rock. After a 1-hour walk, depart for Lake Naivasha, then head to Naivasha Marina camp for lunch (own expense). Note: If you cannot bike, you can tour the park with the vehicle, the driver/guide is happy to stop for photos of wildlife and scenery at no extra cost
Lake Naivasha
For an additional fee of $25 per person, you can explore Lake Naivasha wildlife on a 1-hour boat tour. Spot the hippos that linger just at the surface of the water, and see some of the diverse birdlife; African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbill, and little grebe are all common here. At 4pm, begin the return trip to Nairobi, and finish the day with drop-off in Nairobi at roughly 6pm.

5.00I had a great time on this trip! David who picked me up and drove me from places to places was a lovely guide who shared stories about landscape and Kenya. I appreciate his soft-spoken and unassuming manner and his clear views. We had interesting conversations and he is very thoughtful. I also enjoyed my time biking around Hell's Gate with Gomez, who was a wonderful guide! He shared many fun facts about the place, the history and animals, in a lighthearted way. I enjoyed learning about the animals we met eg. giraffes, zebras, warthogs, ostrich etc. I also love the rocks formations and the gorge. The boat ride at Lake Naivasha to Crescent Island was also really lovely where I saw hippos, many birds and other animals on the island while I was on the boat - this trip did not include going onto the island. My only concern is the large groups of humans that are now allowed on Crescent Island, which feels disproportionate and too many at one go, at times making the place feels more like a zoo than a natural landscape of balance ecosystem. I hope the people in-charge will find a better balance for opening up Crescent Island to humans. Overall it was a great experience. :)

5.00Our driver David was fantastic, punctual and kind he safely navigated our journey between the Westlands and Hells Gate. He set us up with a phenomenal guide at Hells Gate National park - Innocent! He was incredible - we biked at a very leisurely pace, we stopped to discuss the history of our surroundings and breaks as needed. Not only that but he used our phones to capture videos and photos of us throughout our trip so we had all the memories already on our phones without having to think about it! They make a great team, I would highly highly recommend!!

5.00The taxi driver picked us up at our accommodation. A very friendly man who took us everywhere throughout the day. We started at Hell's Gate, where we were warmly welcomed by our guide. Then we had lunch at Naivasha Crescent Resort. The food was excellent. After lunch, we continued to Lake Naivasha for a boat trip. Afterward, our driver took us back to our accommodation. An excellent experience, highly recommended, and definitely do it with a guide in Hell's Gate; you see places you wouldn't find on your own. In short, a wonderful experience.

5.00Stephen was the most excellent driver through Nairobi traffic out to Hells Gate. Did the cycling tour with Gomez, highly recommend! Saw a lot of animals, learned about the history and land. Then did a boat tour around an island with tons more animals. Overall awesome day!!
