Ride a bike and hike through Hell’s Gate National Park on a full-day, private tour from Nairobi to the wildlife reserve and Lake Naivasha that includes entrance, bikes, and round trip-transport from Nairobi. This customizable tour offers the rare chance to see wildlife outside of a safari vehicle while exploring a scenic part of the Great Rift Valley.
Note: If you cannot bike, you can tour the park with the vehicle or walk, the driver/guide is happy to stop for photos of wildlife and scenery
In case you are also tired of biking and have not completed the trail, you can leave the bike on the side of the road and notify the guide and the car will come rescue you at no extra cost.

Hell's Gate National Park
Begin with 7am pickup in Nairobi, then travel to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate National Park, with a break to get views of the Great Rift Valley from a scenic overlook along the way. Upon arriving in the park at roughly 9am, begin a 2-hour, guided bike/walking tour: watch for beautiful rock formations, herds of Thompson’s gazelle, eland, zebra, giraffes, warthogs and hartebeest as you ride. Keep an eye on the sky throughout the tour, as Hell’s Gate National Park is home to more than 100 species of birds, including Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards, vulture, and swifts. Continue on foot into the park’s distinctive gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are sunk into sedimentary rock. After a 1-hour walk, depart for Lake Naivasha, then head to Naivasha Marina camp for lunch (own expense). Note: If you cannot bike, you can tour the park with the vehicle, the driver/guide is happy to stop for photos of wildlife and scenery at no extra cost
Lake Naivasha
For an additional fee of $25 per person, you can explore Lake Naivasha wildlife on a 1-hour boat tour. Spot the hippos that linger just at the surface of the water, and see some of the diverse birdlife; African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbill, and little grebe are all common here. At 4pm, begin the return trip to Nairobi, and finish the day with drop-off in Nairobi at roughly 6pm.

5.00Very well organized and fun day. Driver and tour guide, Patrick, is one of a kind and wonderful at his job. He was diligent, welcoming, and lovely to talk to. He picked me up from my guest house exactly on time at 7am and kept us going throughout the day until drop off around 4. He was very informative about the region, the park and the lake. This tour was both accommodating and relaxed while also well timed and professional. Would recommend!

5.00The experience was amazing from Hell’s gate to Lake Naivasha. I really liked the cycling tour, the tour was amazing also the boat ride at the Lake was very very enjoyable. My guide/driver Patrick was amazing, very helpful and respectful. He was on time with the schedule and answered all my questions. It was a very nice day!

5.00This trip was more than what I imagine. You will have the opportunity to ride bikes amongst animals. Most of the animals you will see and the scenery you will see will be a part of your Lion King childhood memory movie. The tour guides make sure we were safe and well taken care of. I would book them again if I ever visited Nairobi again.

5.00This should be on the bucket list on your visit to Nairobi. This was my first bike ride in 9 years and to do it as part of safari with spectacular views of the gorge populated by giraffes, zebras and antelopes; is a once in a lifetime experience. Gomez did a great job as tour guide. He constantly checked if I was fine and gave me a push when my bike couldn't accelerate for some reason. Then you cap the day off with a boat ride off Lake Naivasha which was just scenic. David was a good driver who shared valuable insights about the wildlife. He even stopped on the way to the National Park, so we can get shots of the Great Rift Valley.

5.00Great way to spend a day away from Nairobi. The experience of cycling past herds of zebras, impalas, giraffes, and elands is truly one of a kind. David, the driver, was very professional and Gomez, the guide, had lots of interesting insights to share about the area and its wildlife.

5.00Our day started off perfectly when Patrick picked us up, and the adventure began right away. On the way to Hell’s Gate, he stopped at an incredible overlook where we learned all about the valley and the surrounding mountains. We absolutely loved seeing more of Kenya—especially all the zebras and baboons just casually hanging out along the way. It felt magical! When we arrived at Hell’s Gate, we were welcomed by our amazing tour guide, Innocent, who led us on a bike ride to the gorge. He truly made the experience unforgettable with his jokes, warmth, and great sense of humor. I’m not used to riding a bike, and he was so patient and encouraging the entire time. On top of that, he shared so much fascinating history about the gorge and the wildlife that lives there. After exploring the gorge, Patrick drove us to the beautiful Lake Naivasha, and we wrapped up the day with an incredible meal at a delicious restaurant. Thank you so much to Innocent and Patrick for giving us a day we’ll never forget!
