Experience 3 authentic local Kenyan experiences with a local food blogger/writer.
I have been a food local guide for 8 years and a well established food writer & Food blogger in Kenya. I will help you discover the local life & culture through food, share tips & tricks about local life. I'll take you to safe places where you would not ordinary venture to as a tourist and show you what life is like in terms of food, how we move, eat and cook. We'll weave through the local farmers market as we source our local fresh produce. I'll help you discover the wonders of the local market, fruits & vegetables.
Afterwards we will prep & cook together a Kenyan local/traditional meal from scratch as we chat and catch up :)

This activity involves 3 amazing Kenyan Experiences? 1. Local famers Market Tour 2. Matatu Experience (Public Transport experience) 3. Cooking class (Kenyan Cuisine) at my home. After meeting, we will take a visit/tour to the farmers market and do some grocery shopping.. (You can totally skip this if you are not feeling up to it) You will get to interact with the locals and see the fresh produce used to make our dish which are fresh from the farm. Have a perspective of local life, vibe and culture. During the experience we will make a complete Kenyan meal. A main dish and a side dish with veggies. The session lasts 3 to 3.5 hrs. After the experience guests can carry the foods prepared. Be prepared to have fun and get your hands dirty :). If you would like to watch that`s fine too. If, however, you would to turn up and enjoy the home cooked meal without the hustle of going to the market, you are also welcomed. NB/ Price includes grocery shopping. NB/ Vegetarian/Pescatrian/Gluten free options are available on notice upon booking. 5.00Great experience, the market and the ride are of course quite unusual for tourists especially after it had rained the night before but our host was all the more cordial for that. Good food and lots of insights into everyday life in Kenya!

5.00She took us to a market where we purchased the food to eat. She let you pick what you want to cook. Then you take a bus back to her apartment. Her kitchen was very clean. She did teach us how to prepare the food, and was very hands on. Afterwards we ate at the table. She was very welcoming

5.00We started by going with the Matatu to the Markt. Went buying fresh produce there and then cooking at her place. It was such a great experience. She fully adapted the meals to our dietary preferences so we enjoyed a fully vegan meal in the end.

2.00I booked this activity because I had a day and half layover in Nairobi and wanted something fun to do. I was scheduled to land at 8pm on the 12 but Unfortunately I was not able to make this appointment excursion because my flight was canceled and the one I was rebooked on didn’t land in Nairobi until 6am. By the time I got to my hotel it was too late. I replied to a message I received from the host explaining but never received a response. Its sad because I was really looking forward to this. Would have been nice if someone had responsed to my message.

5.00This is an experience for travelers who want a bit of an adventure and want to experience Nairobi the way Kenyans do! You navigate the city like a local, see the beautiful produce at the local market, hit up Nimoh's neighborhood butcher, before rolling up your sleeves and getting to work. We learned and had a wonderful time. On top of that, the food was exceptional! Nimoh was a wonderful guide, host, and teacher.

5.00Nemo, was a great teacher and host. We made a traditional Kenyan meal. She was very welcoming and provide detailed instructions, as well as demonstration of how to prepare the dishes. The class is completed in her home, which is extremely clean. She does have two cats. However, she puts the cats away for the class.

Nimoh is amazing, telling us about local food customs and making incredible food (her skills in the kitchen are great) and felt super comfortable walking around the market with her, where clearly everyone knows her. An experience we never would have had on our own. Would absolutely recommend this tour!
