5.00wonderful day with a great variety of experiences for a excellent family day out - sincere thanks to Jonathan who was an excellent guide and helped us to see many animals; lunch location was very nice and we also enjoyed the bead factory - highly recommended for a day in Nairobi and good value for money.

5.00We booked this tour ahead of our official safari tour, hoping to see wildlife, but not optimistic given the closeness to the city and recent bad weather. We were picked up at our hotel right on time in the van that had a roof that would be popped up upon arriving at the national park. There were a total of six participants, just the right number for optimal wildlife viewing. Joel was our guide/driver and he was wonderful. He was knowledgeable about the animals and the park, a great driver and patient with our group. The best part of the tour was the wildlife. What we saw far exceeded our expectations: zebras, ostriches, giraffes, lions, jackels, rhinos, hippos, two types of antelopes. Joel made sure we had enough time to observe and photograph at each opportunity. The stop at the elephant orphanage was very interesting and again, exceeded our expectations. We learned all about bead making and leather beading at a womens cooperative that employs 100 women. The Giraffe Center was fun, although we were all so taken with feeding the giraffes we didn’t spent much time learning about them, but that was our choice. All in all a fascinating day, thanks to Joel. Highly recommend it.

3.00Nothing to add to what others have said about how amazing the national park, the elephant sanctuary and giraffe center are. Truly those parts were wonderful experiences. 3 star rating in hopes that management improves for the following reasons : 1. Pick up was over a half hour late 2. After picking us up late we then had to go back to one of the guests' hotel as the guest forgot something. Overall, between the late pick up and going back to the guest's hotel, that added about an extra hour to an already long trip. I was already dealing with jet lag so that extra hour really hurt at the end of the excursion. I was so tired I couldn't fully enjoy the bead factory. 3. The company put too many people in the vehicle. I had to sit in the middle of a bench seat in the rear of the van - so no window to look out of. There was also no seat belt for me to use. 4. The van broke down while on the safari - it eventually started working again, but since I have seen others comment on their vehicle breaking down - figured I would add it. 5. The restaurant they took us to was not included in the price. The drivers didn't specify this and, on arrival at the restaurant, the hostess made it appear as though the cost of the food was included in the experience. She stated specifically "everything but drinks is included." Imagine my surprise when we got a bill for the buffet meal that cost about the same as a nice serviced meal. Food was good but not worth the price. Unfortunately I hadnt printed out the itinerary and lack of wifi made it difficult to check the itinerary once there.
Excellent Wildlife Tour

5.00The tour included hotel pick up and drop off, with travel in a comfortable van with raised open top. Our driver/guide was excellent. The safari tour through the Nairobi Preserve was spectacular, and we saw all of the Big Five, with several close encounters. It is truly a wild area with free range animals, although the sky scrapers of Nairobi are in the distance. The experience was as good, if not better, than at two other preserves I visited in Kenya. We stopped for lunch at a local restaurant (not the restaurant listed in the tour description), but the food was delicious and reasonable. The Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage visit was spectacular, viewing baby elephant feeding and play. An orphaned rhino and zebra were also there. The presenter was informative, and I was so impressed by the foundation, that I "adopted" an Orphan ($50 for one year), which entitles the adopter to photos and email updates of their orphan. The Giraffe Center was beautiful and modern with raised walkways above the giraffe area for feeding. Thereafter, we visited the Bead Factory, where widows, single mothers, and other distressed women create exquisite hand painted beads and jewelry. The ladies treated us to a joyful song and dance, with shopping for the gorgeous handicrafts after. I enjoyed the entire day immensely. However, for unknown reasons, the admission fees to the Preserve, Elephant Orphanage, and Giraffe Center are not included in the price of the tour. The tour listing advised of this, and indicated that payment in cash for admission fees was required. Reviews from others who took the tour indicated charge cards were accepted. However, on my tour, charge cards were accepted at the Preserve and Elephant Orphanage, but our tour guide said the Giraffe Center accepted only cash. I did not have sufficient cash to tip him and pay the $15 admission, so he took us to a cash station. In order to obtain a minimal amount of Kenyan shillings, I had to pay a $10 service charge. I fail to understand why the Giraffe Center could not accept charge cards for admission, as they did so in their gift shop. The necessity of making individual payments took valuable time away from the activities. Viator or whoever is handling the tour should include these admission fees in the upfront tour cost.

5.00It was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had. Driver picked me up in time, he was super friendly and nice. He took us in NNP and we’ve met lots of different kinds of wild animals. Later we had a very tasty local lunch. Wonderful day it was.
They do not respect the conditions of the reservation

2.00Don’t trust what you book, because I made the reservation with a guide in Spanish and the one that appeared spoke only English. Plus a 4x4 was guaranteed and we were taken in a very old van

4.00Overall it was a good experience and i enjoyed seeing the animals but be warned the vehicle gets very hot as the day goes on ... and the supplied bottled water was also hot. The lunch was very disappointing, it costs 1,500 KES and not worth this. I paid a similar amount on other excursions for a much nicer meal. I would recommend taking a packed lunch from your hotel if you take this tour.

5.00In the morning we did the drive around Nairobi National Park and saw every animal we could have imagined. We went to the elephant orphanage and giraffe center in the afternoon. They drove us to Golden Eagle for lunch.
