  Visiting a Maasai village in Maasai land was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip to Kenya. It’s important to note that this was not in Nairobi—the village is located about a 2-hour drive south of the city, far from the noise and pace of the capital. The journey itself was beautiful and felt like a transition into a completely different world. The village was truly authentic, not staged or commercialized. We were welcomed warmly by the Maasai people, who generously shared their traditions, daily life, and stories with us. From the traditional homes to the songs, dances, and explanations of their culture, everything felt genuine and deeply rooted in their heritage. This wasn’t a tourist show—it was a real insight into Maasai life. Humbling, eye-opening, and unforgettable. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to understand Kenya beyond the city and connect with its living traditions.

  Highly recommend this tour for any visit to Kenya. Our guide, Obed, was incredibly knowledgeable of Kenyan culture and history, which helped us to understand everything in even more detail. When we arrived at the village, the chief, Alfred, went above and beyond to welcome us to the village and we felt like part of the family throughout our time there. They took us through so many aspects of Masai life, from how they build houses to how they hunt and protect the community. The day was definitely one of the best experiences of our trip!

  My sister and I learn so much and have so much respect for the Masai tribe. Learning their way of life made life seem simple. They are my new family. We were invited back in April for a beautiful wedding. How would we do regular donations to the community? The is a must visit when you go to Kenya .

  A seamless experience with Mwose picking us up at our hotel. We then began the 2 hour drive. We were lucky that there was a market happening that day- the sale of goats and sheep. We were able to see and experience the grounds for the sales. From there we went to the Maasai village where we met tribe members. They assisted us in dressing in the traditional garb worn by the tribe. We were so welcomed at all times with everyone wanting to come shake our hands. We learned what both the female and the male roles are in the tribe. Followed by a performance. We are so glad to have participated! 5 stars!!!!

  The visit was absolutely amazing! Mwose was an excellent guide — incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and attentive, making sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire experience. The tribe was fantastic: warm, attentive, and very informative. The length of the visit was perfect as well. I was initially worried it might feel overly touristic, but it couldn’t have been more authentic. We were only five people, and everything was conducted with great respect toward the tribe members.   This was an amazing tour full of diverse cultures and amazing people. To walk in the life of the Maasai people shows us that we live unnecessarily excessive lifestyles. • Truly meaningful

  This is the kind experience you book for a cultural education. We were picked up at our hotel right on time, had a very comfortable ride to the village. Obed, our guide, shared a range of information along the way (though noted that some weary travelers use the time to sleep, too!). The village itself is small and the people are so welcoming, joyful, and proud, making it a perfect introduction to the Maasai culture. The ladies whisked my daughters and I away to be beautifued to Maasai standards with many beaded accessories, while my husband was dressed by the men. We spent the day learning about their traditional rites of passage, how they construct their homes, learned and practiced intricate beadwork, and even joined in some fun with throwing the spears. At the end, there was joyful singing and jumping, and blessings from the village elder. I am sure the experience varies by time of year, but there is so much to gain from visiting any time. If it is within your ability to bring a gift of school supplies for the children or some practical items, they were overwhelmed with gratitude. It was an easy way to return the favor of them sharing their home with us! Overall, highly recommend this experience if you want to have a truly meaningful experience.

  Obed is so generous with sharing the cultural aspects that tie African people together on the continent. He did an excellent job of propping us for the visit and contributing important facts during the visit. The assistance with photos and video was stellar as well!! It’s was a great visit!!

  An absolutely unforgettable cultural experience that I will treasure forever. My guide, Mwose, was outstanding: Professional, courteous and extremely well-informed about his country and the Masai culture. Everyone in the Masai village welcomed me like a family member and provided a truly immersive experience. If you come to Kenya, you must do this tour; it was by far the highlight of my trip to Kenya.
