Meet us to the 1920s stone house in the heart of the Kerameikos neighborhood, named one of the world's coolest neighborhoods by Forbes in 2018. This area is famous for its many bars and restaurants. Join our team as they embark on a culinary journey through their family's treasured recipes. We'll share cherished stories in a delightful culinary adventure as we come together to cook with an array of aromatic herbs and fresh garden vegetables. Discover the timeless art of creating mouthwatering dishes while learning the secret recipes passed down from generation to generation. Whether you're a seasoned chef or new to the kitchen, this heartwarming experience will inspire you to create wholesome and delicious meals while celebrating the joy of cooking. Every Tuesday, the Farmers’ Market takes place right in front of our place. We usually spend about 15 minutes there to pick up fresh ingredients. This menu is a carefully selection of dishes offered by Mama's roots that focuses on using in-season ingredients. The menu is subject to change based on seasonal availability.

5.00A fantastic experience. Four hours of learning, cultural immersion, laughs, and hands-on cooking experience. Exploring ancient ruins in Greece is great but this one beats it all. It was low season; as it turned out, only four of us in the class that day and we had special attention from our teacher. Now that we're home, we will pull out the recipes they provided and hope to master the lessons. Do NOT hesitate to book this. Wonderful time and we highly recommend.

5.00We had so much fun cooking with Bill. Everyone participated in prepping the ingredients to prepare each dish. Bill explained the different cultures influencing the food as well as differences within the regions of Greece. A table was set for us and we were left to enjoy the meal.

5.00If you have a few hours left in Athens this is a very nice way to get to know Greek cuisine from the kitchen:). Highly recommended. Together 6 delicious dishes made under the guidance of a very nice ‘teacher’ Vassilis (Bill). And then enjoyed all that goodies with a glass of wine in the garden.

5.00Our class with Kostas was friendly, informative and fun. The class kitchen and the back yard dining area were charming! We will definitely be making the recipes when we get back to Australia to remind us of our wonderful time in Greece.

5.00I sat down with strangers and got up with friend over a wonderful meal! As a solo traveler, I would recommend that activity to other solo travelers out there. Vasilis Was very knowledgeable and taught us how to make authentic Greek food as well as tips and tricks to make everyday cooking easier too. We made a 6 course meal and he gives you a link at the end of the class to a step-by-step breakdown over everything we did in class so that you can continue making authentic Greek cousins at home. Also, Mama Roots is a duck a beautiful space!
