Monastiraki
Kick off your walking food tour in Monastiraki, one of Athens’ oldest and most vibrant neighborhoods, hosting landmarks like Hadrian’s Library, an 18th-century mosque, and the ancient Iridanos River, still flowing beneath the square. You’ll also enjoy some of the best views of the Acropolis, among many other hidden gems. Try one of the most beloved Greek food, Souvlaki or Gyros as we visit some of the oldest eateries of Athens. The tour starts and ends near Monastiraki, making it easy to combine tasting local flavors with sightseeing.
Psirri
This is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods where we will mingle with the locals and discover some unique spots. Psirri area hosts one of the oldest squares in Athens (Plateia Iroon), where you will find many local tavernas with live music, eateries, bars and cafes. The neighborhood is also famous for some of the city’s best artisan shops and street art murals. Here, we will try different varieties of the Greek traditional puff pastry pie.

5.00The Athens evening food tour was an excellent experience! We met the guide as planned. The guide was on-time and very knowledgeable about Athens and the food we were sampling. At our first stop we sampled a delicious spinach and feta spanakopita. We then went to a local shop where we sampled some wine, meats and cheeses. After that we walked through the central market where we had a gyro. After that we sat down for a full meal including wine, Greek salad, giant beans, meats and other traditional dinner foods (tapas style). The tour ended at a sweet shop where we enjoyed fried dough with honey and pistachio sauce. Everything was delicious and the guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the food we sampled. Come hungry!

5.00This is definitely a wonderful tour. Our tour guide Clea was a terrific host with her background of Art History and wonderful knowledge of Greek food and culture, we had a delicious and comprehensive tasting. I highly recommend this experience and definitely Clea!

5.00This was one of the best tours we have done in any country. Our guide,Dimitri was excellent. We learned about different foods, wines and spirits and went to great shops to try all of these. Everything was amazing. I would highly recommend this tour.

5.00From beginning to end this company has had excellent customer service, been attentive to our needs, and accommodating for a very large group! Once on the food tour our expectations were exceeded by our tour guides Constantina and Katerina. They made it all fun with interesting history, culture, and amazing food and drink choices! Our group of 30 (split into smaller groups for the tours) all came back with great stories of fun and favorite new foods. The experience was a highlight of our 17 day journey for many. Highly recommend tours with TrueVoyagers!
