A trip to Tamarindo is not complete without a day spent on the ocean, and there is no better way to enjoy the beauty and wonder of the Costa Rica sea than with Blue Dolphin Sailing. Blue Dolphin is the original and longest operating sailing tour company in Costa Rica, operating since 2004.
Blue Dolphin 1 is a 40’ open layout catamaran and Blue Dolphin 2 is a large, 50’ cruising style catamaran. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, a family and friends or a business group, the Blue Dolphin’s professional, licensed crew will make you feel welcome and part of our family. So come aboard, relax and enjoy the ride with us!
Tours during high season are likely to sell-out, so book early.
Reservation cut-off time is 11:30 am day of tour.

From Tamarindo we will head North up the coast for about 1 hour while we will enjoy delightful drinks, spectacular scenery and the possibility for spotting for sea life such as whales, dolphins, turtles and rays. Then we will moor in a cove near Playa Huevos for water activities. After the water activities we return to the boat to enjoy a delicious, light meal around 4 PM. Once the food service is complete we weigh anchor and head back to Tamarindo. All the while you’ll enjoy our good music, drinks, perhaps a little dancing, and likely an amazing sunset. We’ll deliver back to shore just after the sun sets.

Option 1: Join the Blue Dolphin crew to start your day. We offer sailing, swimming, snorkeling, kayaks, and stand-up paddle board. We serve a light, tasty meal around 10 AM and have open bar.

5.00Great experience. We had a great group with us and we made a lot of interesting people on this excursion. I would definitely recommend. The Tour guys were very friendly and they played a diverse set of music so we did not feel as if we were missing out on anything or it was catered towards anyone specifically.

5.00We were hesitant to do this, as we read mixed reviews. We ended up having a great time, the crew was great, there was an open bar, and they provided equipment for all advertised activities! Would recommend :)

5.00Things we liked: Amazing view on the trip Lots of snacks and drinks. Friendly staff, including Mateo, the Jr. Capitán. It was a nice small group, as I saw the other boats around with crowds of people, I was grateful that there were only 14 on our boat. We saw great fish. I saw two puffer fish! We also saw sea turtles on the way to the lagoon. I wish there had been flippers for the snorkeling, but that was the only con, really.

5.00Great fun for the family! Everyone from age 7-77 had a great time. The crew were great with the kids - played songs on request and got them dancing. Food was delicious. The boat was really clean. Great experience!
