Copenhagen Photo Festival is entering the big stage this year, when the festival for the first time takes over the Royal Danish Theatre’s Old Stage in the middle of The city at Kongens Nytorv. The theatre’s historical foyer will form a spectacular setting for the festival’s center and the first major solo exhibition by world-renowned Magnum photographer Martin Parr in Denmark since 2003. As a visitor you can both experience the spectacular and historical building that for more than 150 year's have been the largest cultural hot spot in the Danish capital. You will be able to explore the festival's exhibitions in the unusual setting and even step out on the magnificent balcony overlooking Kongens Nytorv.

Copenhagen Photo Festival is the largest festival of contemporary art and documentray photography in the Nordics. In 2025 the festival center opens at The Royal Danish Theater with the legendary photographer Martin Parr as the absolute highlight of the festival. In addition to Martin Parr, a series of solo exhibitions by international photographers is presented, all of which are in line with this year's festival theme 'Fremkaldelser / Into the Light'. The four very different photographers who have been selected from 919 applicants in the festival's annual open call are: Elizabeth Pedinotti Haynes · Gil Bartz · Jansen van Staden · Rita Puig-Serra Costa During the festival, you can also experience conversations and talks with this year's exhibiting artists, go on guided tours, participate in various workshops and masterclasses or explore the festival's first photo print market and our annual photo book market.
