Delphi Ancient Town
Depart Athens with a friendly escort (archaeologist) by bus from the Halandri Metro station and reach Delphi that rises between two terraced rocks, the Fedriades. Delphi is considered the “navel of the earth” and the center of the wisdom of ancient Greek civilization. It was the holiest site of ancient Greek hosting the Oracle of Delphi with the priory of Olympian god Apollo, Pythia who transferred the prediction of the god to the humans. Explore the Oracle of Delphi and drink water from the sacred Castalia spring. If you are lucky, who knows maybe Pythia’s ancient spirit reveals you the future! Walk around the archaeological site with the unique findings such as the Treasure of the Athenians, the Dome of Athens Foresight, the Temple of Apollo, the ruins of Ancient Stadium and the Theater of Delphi.

The archaeological findings are kept in the museum from the Archaic to the Roman era, with impressive artifacts such as the Iniohos, the Sphinx of the Naxians and the statue of Antinoos. Delphi is not only history as it is also known for the gastronomy. So enjoy a gastronomy break with delicious homemade greek foodies.

5.00Our guide/driver welcomed us in a small group. We were comfortably transported to Delfi. She presented some of the history of the area during our transportation. We were free to explore the site on our own at our pace. The museum presented some interesting artifacts. The venture to Arachovia was close. Interesting area, good food. Thank-you for the opportunity!

3.00We had a pleasure to visit archeologycal site and museum of Delphi as well as Arachova village. The time dedicated to Delphi and museum was not the same as mentioned in tour descripton. But it was enough. Also we didn't visit Delphi village. Which was mentioned in the tour itinerary. And we didn't visit Castalian spring. We thought we didn't find it. But as we realised later it is situated away of archeological site. Also have in mind that the road to Tolos of Athena Pronaia is closed. So you will not visit is as well. The time in Arachova village was a bit too much. As there's no much to see there. Also we expected big tourist bus. But they use a small Mercdes van. The driver and the guide is the same person. Her driving style was a bit crazy. Constant acceleration and braking. But everything was on time. And we came back safe.
