  The evening tour is very suggestive but the passage of the boat in the outward leg was too fast .. in front of the parliament we could not take pictures worthy of the show but slowed the race to a "dead end" of the crossing. Good but not great.

  The boat staff were friendly, the views of the city at night beautiful and the hot chocolate with baileys delicious. It was cold on the open deck so dress warm if you go during the colder seasons.

  Not sure whether an hour is enough for a river cruise to see the floodlit buildings along the river and it would have been nice to go a little further to see the sports stadium close up as it looked very impressive from a distance

• Silverline Danube Cruise: Good Value and Iconic Views, but the Atmosphere Fell Short

  We recently took the daytime sightseeing cruise with Silverline, and overall, I would describe the experience as perfectly adequate. The cruise delivers exactly what is promised: stunning, panoramic views of Budapest's UNESCO World Heritage riverbanks, including the majestic Parliament Building, the historic Buda Castle, and the Chain Bridge, all clearly visible in the daylight. The value for money is certainly excellent. The cruise was priced fairly, and the duration and route were exactly as advertised. The ship itself was modern, clean, and provided plenty of viewing space from both the enclosed and open decks. For first-time visitors looking for an affordable and efficient way to see all the major landmarks from the water, this cruise performs its primary function well. However, a river cruise is fundamentally a shared social experience, and in our case, the general atmosphere created by the other passengers unfortunately detracted significantly from the scenic journey. While my wife and I were looking forward to a relaxed hour enjoying the views, the crowding and high energy levels of several nearby groups made it difficult to find a quiet moment to simply soak in the city’s beauty. While this is clearly not the fault of the cruise line or the ship's friendly crew, who did their best, it does highlight that the passenger experience can be very hit-or-miss depending on who else is on board. For Silverline management, I would offer one constructive suggestion that could universally improve guest comfort: a clearer, stricter policy regarding designated smoking areas, particularly on the open decks. The constant presence of smoke made enjoying the fresh air and taking unobstructed photos difficult for non-smokers, which compounded the disappointment of the distracting social environment. If you prioritize excellent value and fantastic photographs of Budapest's architecture and bridges, this cruise will certainly provide the views. Just be aware that the overall enjoyment of the trip may heavily depend on the dynamics of your fellow travelers.

  Strange experience to say the least. We turned up approximately 40 minutes early and I showed the guide our tickets to ensure we were at the right place only to hear mumblings of "This tour is on the Buda side..." and when I showed the departure point address on the ticket showing as where we were, I got a "they mixed it up..." was then told to go to the back of the line. The boat left at the alloted departure time anyway and as far as I could see, no-one else was challenged about their tickets...the boat tour was ok, nice views. Just a really strange thing to say/do.

  Arrive on time (like 30mins before) because the line is huge and they take the best places.. however if you go to front you can still have a nice experience!

  Wonderful boat trip in a beautiful city. Very nice to sit on the top deck. It would have been an add on, if we where told what we passing by.

  First and worst, highlight the antipathy and disrespect of the two girls who were checking tickets in the driveway. I taught her and asked her in Spanish, if that was the door of my reservation, and the very poor educated answered me in English that she did not have to learn to speak Spanish, that I learn English, and then, she started with her partner to turn me green, and what I did not know was that I speak and understand English perfectly. I don't think it's a way to answer a client. I stayed because I wasn't going to lose my money to that pair of incompetents. The audio guide, fatal, was not on time with the trip and gave little information. Last half an hour, none.

  You notice they do this a lot. Everything runs on time and smoothly. The queue seemed very long, when we arrived (if you want to be sure of your preferred spot, come at least 20 minutes before departure; we had the cruise of 8:30 p.m.). The audio tour is well put together and can be downloaded. So make sure you have your phone, enough data/speed and your own earplugs, because they don't give them out. Would have been useful if this was reported in advance... but otherwise beautiful views and the drinks I did not find too expensive; she expected more expensive.
