Journey to the heart of gin-making by crafting your own bespoke gin. Following an immersive distillery tour to explore the intricate process behind our renowned spirits, you will unleash your inner distiller in The Arches Gin Lab.
Here you will select some of the earth’s finest botanicals under the expert guidance of a Distillery Ambassador, fire up one of our small copper stills and indulge in a seasonal tutored tasting featuring gins from our award-winning range with delicious local produce – whilst our slowly simmering stills release the essential oils and flavours from your chosen botanicals.
Commemorate the moment with a custom label before raising a tailored G&T in celebration of your creation.

5.00As a gin aficionado visiting Edinburgh, I did the Gin Making Experience at the Edinburgh Gin Distillery. I knew what to expect but didn’t realize how much fun it would be!! The experience lasts about 3-4 hours. The first part is learning about all the botanicals we had to choose from, then we tweak our recipes and set the gin up to distill. While the distillation happens, we did a tour of the main distillery and a gin tasting. We got to name and label our gin, and seal the bottle with wax once it was ready. It was all very professional looking in the end! My final product was tasty right out of the still, but I haven’t tried it at home yet. There were only 5 of us so it was a small, manageable group. I can’t say enough about Gregor and Andre, who led the class and made it super fun and really engaging. The time flew by and I learned a *ton*. It’s such a fun way to pass the afternoon especially if you’re interested in gin.

5.00An anazing tasting and making experience with Andre and Finlay. We learned so much about gin, the vast range of botanicals and even the difference different tonics can make to the taste. You wouldn't believe how a scrap of peel can transform how a gin tastes. Lovely way to learn so much from great hosts in a fabulous building in central Edinburgh

5.00Brilliant day, Freddie and Andre were so good at what they do, friendly, cheery and putting up with our chat. We were 3 sets of two people who had never met before and we were chatting away like old friends by the end of it, Freddie and Andre helped make this possible. Their knowledge of gin making was exceptional and made all the technical stuff interesting. Thoroughly recommend the gin making tour especially with them

5.00Gregor was fantastic! He made the gin cocktail class such a fun and engaging experience. He was friendly, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the craft and the history behind the cocktails. His energy made the whole class feel relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommend taking a class with him!

5.00We had a fun afternoon at the Gin Making Experience with Finlay & Andre. It was both interesting & informative, as well as hugely entertaining. The guys are skilled & passionate about what they do, and as locals it was good to be able to learn more about how the different products are developed. We rounded off our visit with a drink at the rooftop bar. Thank you - we'll be back!

5.00WOW! What an exceptional experience !!! We were very lucky to have Lucy N & Lucy C guide us through this experience. The knowledge and set up for this class was well above what I expected. To experience selecting your own botanicals and have the girls guide us to what also works well together and describe the botanicals was extremely helpful. Placing the botanicals in the Distiller and seeing the end result in our own take home labeled bottle with a little sampler was amazing. The hardest thing was to think of what name you wanted on your label !! The entire staff we met throughout the distillery and later at the bar were so friendly and clearly love what they do. I would 100% recommend this experience if you are visiting Edinburgh, thanks girls you were amazing !!! WOW! don't miss this experience !!!!
