Edinburgh's first food tour in 2011 - Eat Walk is locally owned.
We share the story of the city through food and drink and enjoy access to small locally owned restaurants, wine bars, breweries, distilleries and members only venues.
We love what we do and our philosophy is to deliver happiness to you, our guests, the venues we work with and ourselves in the work that we do.
Private tours can be customised to suit your interests. Our standard tour format includes a walking tour, visits to four restaurants with seated reservations to enjoy a full meal with paired drinks.
The food we typically include is a mixture of traditional Scottish cuisine, family favourite comfort foods and the unexpected.
Expect tutored drinks tastings. We specialise in revealing how much you already know. We'll ask you the right questions that unlock your hidden sommelier talents introducing you to small local producer whisky, cider, beer and soft drinks. Customise to include fine wine, whisky or gin.

Ever wondered why the West End in British cities is wealthier than the East End? Discover the story and the hidden local gems of Edinburgh's West End - home to consulates, fine dining and stunning architecture.

Although newer than the Old Town, the New Town is over 200 years old. With buildings inspired by Athens, this was once a residential suburb and now home to the best shopping, eating and drinking in the city.

Tamara was an exceptional tour guide. We greatly enjoyed our evening and found the food selections to be a perfect combination of sweet, savory and delicious. Each course and location was hyper local, well prepared and plated, reflective of the culture and absolutely wonderful. Each location was chic and fun; the service was grand. Tamara was fantastic! Her engaging approach, thoughtful attention to detail and interesting facts made for a fun and fabulous night.

Outstanding host, excellent food, and even better stories and information about the area!! Our host (Tom) was exceptionally versed in many different facets of the area, and provided some very interesting information. Tom was very friendly and had some of the best facts and stories about the local area that we have ever experienced anywhere. The food was truly outstanding and there is nothing that I would change about our experience.

Our guide Wag was excellent. Great source of Edinburgh history. Food was great, portions sizable. They will customize based on your suggestions. Beverages are also sample sized. Would have preferred the ability to purchase even a regular glass of wine while eating. Overall, was very expensive but good food and Wag was the highlight.

We did a tour in Edinburgh with Wag. He is absolutely amazing. I can’t tell you how incredibly knowledgeable he is about well, everything. He is like a walking encyclopedia and fills in the gaps with fun tid bits and curtails the experience to your interests. My husband and I were with our 17 year old and he pulled him in and gave him fun facts that teens enjoy. Sara was also so helpful. We had to reschedule due to the fire at London Heathrow. We were 3 days delayed, but she worked to make happen for our new schedule. Amazing experience.

If you’re lucky enough to get Wag as your guide you’ll know you’re in for a good time. A thoroughly knowledgeable guide, along with a good sense of humor, Wag kept us entertained. A special request to visit an authentic pub took us to The Oxford where famous writers can sometimes be seen. Great little cafes with authentic Scottish dishes with just enough beer to wash it down made for a wonderful experience and a great tour!

Everything about our tour was perfect! To begin, Wag — our guide, was wonderfully nice, extremely knowledgeable, and able to answer the questions we had about the food and Edinburgh. The pace between walking and eating/drinking at the next establishment made for an easy stroll and provided time to learn about the city in between the food and drink. The tour was the favorite thing we did on our trip and it was worth every cent. Sara reached out to us to provide information shortly after booking the tour and we felt we were in good hands from the start. Finally, make sure to try the haggis — you won’t regret it!

This was a great way to experience different types of food os Scotland. It was three different restaurants and just enough time to try the dishes and experience great food. The service was great at these restaurants. Our guide explained the different food we’re about to try. I loved each of the restaurant as they each had a different atmosphere. Also each restaurant were close together but enough to get out and walk to see a little of the town

Wag met us in our hotel lobby, which was super convenient. We walked from Haymarket, through the West End into New Town and then Old Town. We stopped at four unique and non-touristy places over four hours and had delicious and authentic Scottish dishes, ales and whisky. Ended at Sandy Bell’s for another pint and live music. Wag is very knowledgeable about Edinburgh history, architecture and culture. Wag is great company. Wonderful way to start our vacation in Scotland! Highly recommend going with a private guide!
