A Famosa Fort

The Portuguese colonised Melaka from 1511 to 1641. The first thing they did was build a fort overlooking the river, calling it A'Famosa. However, Dutch came and destroyed the entire fortress, leaving only the entrance facade named Porta de Santiago which you may still get to see.

110% would recommend this tour to people who want to know more about Malaysia, it's heritage and cultural aspects. Ask for Sean and you will not be disappointed as his passion for the history of Melaka (and food :P ) was clear. This tour isn't for everyone as you have to be prepared to walk, see the non-tourist side of Melaka and experience unique tastes.... Some of those tastes not adjusted to western tongue however trying all these very culturally different food was amazing! Thank-you so much to Be Tourist for sharing Melaka with us!
