If you wish to visit this beautiful Sanctuary, remember it is closer from Ecuador. During all of this road We will have amazing ladscapes lobserving mountains and valleys. During our trip, We will see many people , they are part of many ethic and social groups.

The landscapes will be changing between mountains , forest and farms. Many colors will be part of the mountains. When We cross the border with Colombia nobody will ask for our documentation doing this visit easier.

Climates and microclimates will be another experience while We drive.

Leaving from Quito, we will take the Panamerica Norte highway and drive towards the border with Colombia for 4 hours 30 minutes. We will cross the Rumichaca bridge and in 30 minutes we will be at our destination.

Las Lajas Sanctuary

Las Lajas, one of the best-known religious sanctuaries in South America for its beauty and the difficulty in its construction. If we wish we can have breakfast or lunch and of course visit the Sanctuary museum to learn about the history of the local tribes. The return can be done using the cable car, this takes a time of more or less 20 minutes. I will pick you up at the end station of the cable car.

Although, it is a long and arduous day in the car, it is absolutely worth it such a magnificent site in Columbia. The tour guide made it exceptional by also taking me to an incredible unique cemetery in Ecuador.

I do not know how this excursion could be made better. We were picked up right on time in a very clean and comfortable car. The ride was exactly as described with outstanding guide Carlos and our driver. Carlos helped us exchange money in Columbia for all our expenses there. The cathedral was beautiful. The gondola ride was spectacular giving us an incredible view of the valley and cathedral. We spent as much time as we chose there. We visited the museum which is really nice and had several opportunities to visit the cathedral. We also went to the falls…incredible. Off to the spectacular figures in the cemetery. We stopped for a local lunch and then headed back. Volcanoes, lakes, churches and local foods and snacks. Dropped back at the hotel after a very full day. Incredible!!

We had a very pleasant time on this tour. Our guide and driver were excellent and the places were beautiful. Our guide Carolina was also very informative about Ecuador and the regions we traveled through.

One of the best tour in Quito for sure. Our tour guide Gustavo was awesome. He picked us up at our hotel on time and drove 5 hours to Las Lajas. The Sanctuary was amazing. Our dream of visiting our lady of lajas finally came true. We also visited a cemetery in Tulcan. Awesome tree designs/maze. Will definitely recommend this tour to anyone.
