This 4-hours tour is the easiest way for you to have close-up contact with monkeys such as white-face, howlers and geoffrey´s tamarine. Plus the two toed sloths, three toed sloths, capybara, anteaters, caimans, crocodiles, turtles, manaties, bats, and a lots tropical birds like Rainbow-billed Toucan, Keel-billed Toucan, fiery-billed aracari, Snail Kite, White Hawk, Ospray, Limpkin, Tiger Heron, White Heron, as well as other aquatic birds such as Aramides cajaneus, Little Blue Heron, Purple Gallinule, and more. This lake is an ecological paradise not to be missed!.

What To Expect

Lake Gatun

The tour starts with hotel pick up in Panama City followed by a transfer to the Gamboa Marina. Once there, you will go on a 15-minute boat ride on the Gatun lake until you observe 3 kinds of Monkeys in a wild. Together with a guide, you will spend about 80 minutes observing the different species of monkeys. After the visit, you will go on a 15-minute boat ride back to the Gamboa Marina followed by a transfer back to your hotel.

The tour guide and experience itself were incredible. Getting to feed and be up close with the monkeys was great. I truly loved the boat ride and the staff on the trip. Unfortunately, our drop-off experience wasn't the best. As we were one of the last stops, the driver dropped us off at a corner. While it was close to the other passengers' hotels, it wasn't close to our accommodations. On foot, it would've taken us over 20 minutes to get to our Airbnb and it was raining. If we had advance notice that we would not be dropped off at our building, that would be fine. But we ended up having to get an Uber at the last minute. I don't regret the experience at all (shout out to Daniel, Juliet, and Tito). But while I initially gave the experience 5 stars, the end of the day left a bad impression on me.
